So FUSTRATED! Changed my name and get a questionnaiore AGAIN under new name for JURY DUTY!

I change my name legally and get ANOTHER questionnaire for jury duty............. WHY ME! I just served a year ago. I now cannot get someone on the phone, so I am going to send in the stupid questionnaire with a copy of my receipt that I served and a copy of my marriage license. Do they have idiots working there???!!! I had to vent. Did this happen to anyone else? This is the 'reward' I get for changing my name- GEEZ, I should have kept my maiden name!

I didnt, but I just was put on 6 month hold for Islip ( I dont know whats its called, so Ill serve in March instead of September, when the school year started.) Well that was o.k.d and I just got one for Brooklyn now!

They will let you out of it if you have the paperwork to prove you served last year. You might want to send them a copy of the marriage certificate to show the name change.

I last served in the Fall of 2001, so I'm sure I'm about to be called again.

I just finished jury duty a few weeks ago, and they said just to send a copy of the paper that you already served. They said that the computer is the one that sends the requests and its common that the same person can get called more than once. For example, if you put your name as Jane A. Smith on your drivers license but Jane Smith on your tax return, the computer doesnt know the difference. Dont worry, its frustrating but you will get out of it. Nassau county has a website with the phone #s on it you can call and talk to someone. Good luck!
