So good news and bad news...

So good news and bad news...

I was a standby juror for the past weeks for federal court in brooklyn and yesterday was selected to serve on a 6 days trial (which actually started yesterday). Why they picked me I have no idea since I am sick as a dog and I was coughing and sneezing in their faces when they were asking me questions. But whatever - I was picked and served on the trial yesterday.

This morning, I woke up feeling even worse than yesterday and nearly fainted on the train ride in and had to get off about 9 stops early to sit down and get some air. I called up and told them I am really sick (which they obviously saw yesterday) and I need to go to the doctor. So, they excused me from the entire trial and I don't have to go back. I went straight to the doctor and he said I have a sinus infection.

So Good News: I got out of jury duty early and I still get credit for serving.

Bad News: I feel like poop, I have no appetite, and I am in layers upon layers in a blanket and still freezing!

I'm surprised they still gave you credit- awesome! The federal court seems to be more lenient than Queens court. Feel better!

well technically I already served the 2 days I would have if I didn't get picked. I served one day last week and then all day yesterday so they have to give me credit for going the 2 days. I honestly couldn't even think about how I would feel sitting in that jury box feeling like this (yesterday was hellish!)
