The key to viral breakouts is stress. I know it's easier said than done, but it's crucial you not stress! The stress will only exacerbate it more.

FH and I took lysine pills (you can get them at a health food store) the week leading up to my wedding. I was not taking any chances. It worked!

ITA.... if you are prone to stress start taking Theaninie - its an all natural (herbal) stress reliever.. you can find it at any nautral vitamin store like Willner and Sons or maybe GNC will have them

Take lysine! It's an amino acid supplement. My dad gets cold sores and when he feels it start to come on, he takes those pills for a few days and it never even comes out. If he takes it too late and it does show up, it goes away MUCH faster than usual though.

FH gets them (only when he is super stressed out)... he is planning on taking Valtrex starting 1 or 2 weeks before the wedding for a precaution since that time will be a super stressful time, prime time to get one... I know it's 'Valtrex' but it's the same virus so it can be a good preventative
