So here is the deal......

I really don't want to have an engagement party Instead I wanted to take my BP out for a nice dinner or something. I really don't know what could be a nice place to take them since I already asked my BP to be in it, I was thinking making them gift bags and getting them Bridesmaid tops! and making them a really nice card with a nice poem or something like that. But I really don't know where to bring them or where to have it at. Should I also invite parents? what do you think!!!! TIA girls give me some ideas on what else I could give them

Umm im kinda torn with the parents ... hmmm ... ill go for yes ... (yours n his not the bp ... i was a lil confused )

i don't think it is necessary to take them out to dinner & give them gifts. i think a small diy project is just enough. have a little dessert or finger food get together at your home so everyone can meet & reminisce.

Christine I like your Idea a lot!!! but If i do some get together like that in my house my parents will immediately invite THE WHOLE FAMILY and it will turn into a party and i want something more intimate. We like italian food, and Spanish!!! thanks ladies!!

if you'd like to go somewhere in the city, try kaleidoscope in the east village, it used to be byob but i'm not sure its changed, i had a bridal shower brunch there once for one of my sorority sisters and it was fab.

if you want a sexier place with exceptional service, you can try giorgios of gramercy on 21st and park.

i didnt want a party either but my dinne with my BP n parents turned into a e-party at a cheap hall with spanish n italian food lol and 75 people invited lol... so much for the 25 peopledinnner thing....

I LOVE buddakhan, its gorgeous inside and best food. Theres 2 floors, when you enter youre on the 2nd floor and theres a big opening in the middle where you can see the downstairs tables and they have a verrrrry long table in the middle which is great for such occasions. Not sure how much youre looking to spend though but this is my favorite place

Or maybe you can do a family style place like carmines or Tony dinapoli's

ETA: if youve seen SATC youve probably seen the table, its where the e-party was held and i think they showed the big long table, they probably even had it. But i have to say that buddakhan is one restaurant that ive said its some of the best food ive had
