So, the basic thing is, as some of you know, I was concerned about our stability as he was very lax with things when it came to finances.... I basically thought long and hard and came to the conclusion that it was going to be a very hard life. That wasn't the binder though....

What made my decision final was that I realized there were a lot of personal things that he had to get through before he could make anyone happy - lots of internal things - things that after 2 and a half years, he didn't even clue me in on.... just let me in when the threat of calling off the wedding came to hand...

So that is basically the jist of it....

I want to thank you all for your help & friendships.... all the girls on here are such an extraordinary group.... nothing that I could have ever dreamed would be a reality.... I hope to be on here again the way I once was, and can't wait til that time comes again!

I know exactly what you are going thru. I called off a wedding previously and although it was hard, cancelling everything and telling the story to everyone I knew, it was the best decision I ever made. Especially b/c I never would have met my current FI! I wish you the best of luck and just know that you are now one step closer to finding the right person!

This is my second engagement as well. I called off the first one. I think after people finally realized that *I* wasn't the one dumped, it was easier.

It takes a lot of guts to be honest to yourself. I admire you for it. Stay true and stay strong.

Although this was the right decision, I know this was not an easy one...so I just wanted to let you know that I have a ton of respect for you. Sometimes the things we go through end up helping others who are in similar situations. I wish you the best!!!!
