well dress prices vary so much. its all about how much you want to spend! keep in mind alterations and shoes, jewlery, veil....

it really depends on your budget! You can find a beautiful dress that will flatter you in any budget....just figure out how much you can afford to spend, and don't forget to include alterations, accessories (veil, headpiece, shoes, slip, undergarments, etc.)....and go from there! Good luck and enjoy shopping!!

Also, make sure you shop around once you find THE dress, you can usually bargain the price down a bit! good luck!

how much are you willing to spend? i bought my dress at Davids Bridal and i think its GORGEOUS!! I would never want another dress but mine, and I only spent 750 on it. I was not willing to spend thousands of dollars on a dress i am wearing ONCE!!!

that is exactly how i feel...went to a bridal suite, tried on a dress that I FELL IN LOVE with...it was $3200. My sister-in-law thought that it is the normal price. I am a total bargain shopper, and just can't justify it.

i mean if you love it then you should get however for 3200 you can get other things for your wedding also!! Look at my pics of my dress...

Re: So how far along should I be???

your dress is beautiful..it looks like it was made for you...is that after alterations?

I did try David's Bridal, but the dress i am looking for is very specific, it is a sheath dress, all lace, with sheer lace...i can't really explain it. Marissa makes it, and Jim Hjelm kind of makes one similar. as for the $3200, I could do a lot for my new house, and FH would think i was crazy!!!

I say the cost of your wedding dress depends on your budget. If you have a $20k budget for the entire wedding, then a $10k dress would be a fiancially sound idea.
