my hair lady said we have to start at 4am for 5 girls...me, the FG, the moms and one BM. we have to be ready by 8:30. is that too early? i mean, 4.5 hours...for 5 people? just seems like a long time for what she'll be doing...i think everyone but me is an updo.

Re: so how long does the bride's hair usually take?
Mine will take about 1 hour or 1.5 hour. It's half up, half down.

We did 7 people - started around 6:30, and were done by 9. We had two hair people though.

My hair took an hour and 15 minutes. But it was a 1/2 updo and the back was all curls. And I have very thick hair.
You want to allow extra time anyway, just in case. I'd say if there are no curls for anyone else, maybe 30-40 minutes per person?

grrrrr...ok...so allowing 2.5 hours for them and 1.5 for me (half up and down with curls of course ) is 4. ugh. <----that will be me during the ceremony.

How did your day of hair doing compare to your trial?
My hairstylist did my trial super fast. Maybe 20 minutes. Of course it wasn't perfect but yeah.

Get up from your desk, go out your building and make a right, I'll meet you at the end of the block and slip you some of my tea.
Of all the things women have said about their wedding days, not one has ever said they were falling asleep!
You'll be fine. Will you even be able to sleep the night before anyway? I slept fine but my Mom didn't. And thank God for that because Dad set the alarm for 5:30am but turned the volume down to 0. If my Mom had slept well, we wouldn't have woken up till 6:45 when the hair/makeup girl got there.

Mine will take 60-90 minutes b/c of all the curling and full up do. They stated about 45 min for each BM.

It really depends on the style you want and your hair in general.
I had just a simple french twist -- and my hair was blown straight the day before. It took an hour and 20 min for that.

If you only have one hair girl then that sounds right to me. If you had two you could probably much later.
