to get a swatch of my dress so that I can see it next to bm dresses.... and the woman on the phone tells me 'we don't give swatches until your dress comes in because we take the swatch from your actual dress' and I say 'okay, when will my dress be in?' and she says ' March'.........March? I ordered in August!!! Is this normal? I see that alot of girls who are getting married after me are already getting their dresses in.....I know I don't need it until then, but I feel like that is cutting it close, and I don't want them to pull the ol' 'now we need more money because it is a rush' thing.

you're fine, it's definately not cutting it close. I'm getting married this november and my dress came in at the end of September. My first fitting was the beginning of October.

Thats actually early, it usually takes 9 months for the gowns to come in.

Do not worry about Kleinfield's . They really are the best. I had a wonderful expereince there with all my fittings. I just picked up my dress. I loved it there you are in good hands.

they did the samething with me... I just ordered my dress and it will be coming in February.... I have to wait.. I think it is crazy. I wanted to also get a piece of lace to see if I can get a cheaper veil and they said since i got mine already I could not cancel it..

That is completely normal, although they should have told you that when you ordered it. It took 8 months for mine to come in as well. You should go for your first fitting about 2 months before the wedding. A lot of designers make your dress to order, so they might be working on it now. It's a good thing.

Don't worry, Kleinfeld's does things differently than other bridal stores. They order everything around your wedding date. So it doesn't mater when you ordered it, it will still come in 3 months prior to the wedding date. i ordered my dress last november, and they are still telling me it will be in 3 months beofre my date. I would not worry.

Waiting that long is normal. BUT I got a swatch b4 my dress came in--they just ask that you don't dye your shoes or anything b/c it may not be an EXACT match to your gown.
