My Banquet Manager has been amazing but from what I understand I won't really deal with her on the day of the Wedding. Do I tip her at all? We'd like to give her something b/c shes been so great but is that ok to do? And if so when do we tip her?? Maybe when I drop off my stuff? Is it wise to tip before the actual event takes place??

Re: So I don't tip my Banquet Manager?
coming from someone who was a BM for several years, just because you dont 'deal' with them on the day of your wedding, think about all the times you did meet with her leading up to the wedding.
She will be there in the morning doing all the stuff you and her planned out before you even get there. making sure things are set up right, coordinating with the MD and arranging things to be perfect for you when you arrive so there are no problems.
I cant even tell you how many times I got screwed when I made a brides day perfect for her, going above and beyond, putting fires out that she didnt even know about.

We didn't tip our BM. After booking with him, we never spoke to him. We always spoke to Linda or to Fran at Dazzling Affairs.
If you do want to tip them or give them a gift, I'd definitely do it the day you drop your stuff off. Our BM wasn't even there on the day of our wedding.

We didn't realize until almost 6 weeks before the wedding that our BM was gone... after we booked with her we didn't see her. They put me in touch with another BM who was nice, but we didn't even have a need to deal with her at all. We handled everything for the menu and planning out the night through the maitre'D, who was getting tipped anyway.

if you are introduced to your MD weeks before the wedding, then there is no real need to tip the BM, but every place that I have worked as a BM, I have taken these weddings to heart and put my everything into it, and deal a lot with the bride and groom.

i mean anything is always appreciated! there were times I got $20, and times i got$200. a lot of them would bring a gift, like a nice bottle of wine, or something that would remind me of them.

Our BM went above and beyond. He got us so much and was amazing. We tipped him $300 (I think?? DH handled it so it might have been more) on the day of the wedding.
