My friend as my photographer. I feel so bad. We were just so unhappy with the engagement pics. Since we are not having video all we have is the pics and we don't want them to be awful. I sent her a message last night and gave her a very valid excuse (her lack of insurance) which I know we could have got around but she doesn't know that. I tried to end it on a high note saying now she can just enjoy the wedding and so on. She hasn't responded to me at all yet...and i know for sure she received my message. I'm just so upset, but I think I did the right thing.

Hopefully she will understand. I think u did the right thing, u want ur pics to be amazing and if u didn't feel they were with her than u had to go with someone else.

You did do the right thing. This is your wedding. You cannot risk having bad pictures - these are the memories you will be left with. I know you feel bad but you gave her a valid reason and now she really can just enjoy the wedding!

You had to do it. Photography is important. I always say that when I'm 90 and can't remember FH's name we'll still have our wedding pictures to look at, unless they were crap and I didn't want to look at them... you have to find someone whose work you love. Your friend might be a little hurt but eventually they'll realize why you did it.
But I hope your friend isn't too upset and everything works out.

listen its your wedding, you have to do what you and your fh like, and pictures are a HUGE part of it... youre better off this way, if you would have went through with it youd be stuck with pictures you hated for the rest of your life, thats no fun showing off pics you hate

You did the right thing. Pictures are very important and you'll be looking at them for the rest of your life. I can recommend my photographer, he's great and def worked with us on our budget. FM if you're interested.
