Fh and I book our wedding in January, and really do like the idea of having a wedding in the beginning of January. However the problem that I am having is that I wanted to take pictures outside at planters field and at Chateau Briand...but the sun is going to be setting at 4:30 that day. I had originally planned on getting married at the church at 2:30 but am thinking that I should move it up so that I can maximize my daylight hours. Has anyone else thought of this or am I just overthinking things? Do you think its a good idea to push up the Church? BTW the ch doesnt start until 7:30...I dont know what to do!!!

Re: So I just thought of this
My day was originally the day after you and that was the problem we had with it also. We ended up moving our church to 11am so we would have plenty of time to take pictures and relax and whatnot...yes it is an incredibly long time between the church and reception for the guests but if its for something you really want then do it...

I think its a great idea to move the church up that way you can take the pictures that you want! Also, since there is going to be time maybe you can make up a little packet of things for your guests to do inbetween the church and the reception. Are alot of people coming from out of town?? If most of your guests are local you wont really have to worry about it as much. I dont think your over thinking it. You want everything to be perfect that day. Good luck!

You could also see if you could move your ch to a little earlier. I have the earlier time, I am starting at the earlier time at Chateau. I have 5:30 start time being that it is January and it will be dark out by then.

I think your idea is great and would work out the way you want it you. We have enough time to do all this stuff so its good we think of this stuff now while we still have time before we have problems!

Re: So I just thought of this
Well I was thinking that I would be able to start the church earlier. There would be a large gap in time...but I dont have really anyone coming from out of town, so I dont have to worry about that. I was thinking that the friends that would come to the church would be able to go home and freshen up and the family would come with us to take pictures. I think that is what I am going to do...I dont want to change the time that the hall starts because I like the 7:30 ch hour. I dont want the wedding to be over at 11:30 and dont really want to spend the money on the extra hour for all of the vendors...

Thats a good idea; I would def. move the church earlier so you're not taking any chances. Especially if you don't have anyone coming from out of town, its fine. It gives people plenty of time to go home for a while
