So, I just verbally invited people to my wedding...

So, I just verbally invited people to my wedding...

I really only started getting to know them over the past few months and they are more excited for me about my wedding than my own coworkers are! They work for another department than I do, but I work WITH them a lot. I just went with the urge to ask the girl on the phone if she would be interested in coming, but I told her I had to get her an invitation. The only problem is, the RSVP date is TOMORROW!. I just e-mailed the girl who did my invitations to ask her to send me the insert for the RSVP date - but to change it to Oct. 20th for them.

I feel bad for some reason, like they're gonna think they were a last minute thought. Which, I guess they were in a way, but it's more that I'm getting to know them more and more as of late and would like them there. They seemed excited about it!

I hear ya, but at least you thought enough to actually INVITE them, if your friendship is just starting with them, you are saying that you like them enough to invite them to share in your special day. I am sure they wouldn't have expected an invitation 3 months ago so it is fine.

Hey, it happens!

At least you'll have them there-- that's the most important part

I was a 'late invite' to a few weddings from co-workers and i wouldn't have cared if it was the day before. Don't feel bad when they are all busy feeling honored.

yeah some ppl who are recent friends would just be honored to attend, nevermind the late notice... they will understand!

personally i love to attend weddings so won't be offended if a friend i made recently invited me as long as it's not the day before, i gotta find something to wear ya know! :D

if you feel bad about inviting them at last minute, tell them absolutely no gifts! :D

I definitely hear what you're saying. I wouldn't feel bad at all, if they show interest in your wedding and you work closely with them, then they should be invited. I'm sure they won't be insulted.

We invited a lot of people informally 'last minute' and simply gave those who wanted one an invite with everything EXCEPT an RSVP card.

Oh yeah? That's good to know. The only annoying thing is that the stackable pocketfolds will rat me out that something is 'missing!'. lol
