for the very first relative yesterday. My aunt and my uncle came over for Thanksgiving, and my aunt gave us some crystal wine glasses, and she said this is the first of the engagement presents. So she asked if we were going to have an engagement party and I said yes. When she asked where we were registering, I said politely 'Well, Kurt and I have everything because we have lived together for over 2 years now, so I'm not going to register until my bridal shower.' I think she got it. But it also helped that my sister in law screamed out 'HSBC BANK!' when she heard my aunt ask where we registered. I think this is a nice way to put it, no?

Thats a great idea!!!!! I still need to register for things that we will always need. Like towels, sheets.... oh yes sheets!!!! First thing we are gonna do when we buy a house is buy a king size bed. Right now we have a full!!! FH sleeps on his back with his arms spread, and I wake up with an elbow in my forehead constantly!!! That has to change!

you think thats bad... we sleep in a twin size bed.... my FH is 6'1 and 250 lbs... theres NO ROOM FOR ME... im moving in a month and thats the first thing im buying... A NEW BED!!!.. bu i love the idea of honeymoon registering

Oh my!!! I couldn't!!! I swear I'm always tired because of the way I sleep !!! He sometimes covers my face with a pillow because he says I breathe on him

Honestly i am doing the same thing, we have lived together for 2 years, we have everything already. We just want cash for our E-party
Plus we are doing the entire house in 2007, so until i pick out how the house is going to look, i want to wait to register. I am not sure what decor or style we are going for yet.
Then if i register in the summer or 07, i still have our birthdays, and christmas for people to buy us gifts, plus the shower.

That's great! What an awesome sister. This way, you seem all sweet and polite, and she sounds funny, and you get what you want anyway at the end. I need to get my sister in on that, and we can peddle our racket all over town.

Its true though. We have dishes and stuff. But I think we'll wind up registering because our glasses and dishes are crappy...
And yes, we do have a toaster oven, etc., but everything we have is so cruddy and old. I would love to upgrade

Me too! We have the basics; we need extras. And FH watches the Food Network with me all the time, and he's so pumped to register for all the gadgets Alton Brown uses all the time - a stand mixer, a mandolin, a digital oven thermometer - he's more excited about going to Bed bath & beyond to run around and zap stuff than I am!
