join in my humility ... have you made a fool out of yourself lately?
sooooo, yesterday I went to the bank to cash my checks and deposit our wedding gifts. I sat down with the dude at HSBC and I started talking about the wedding and how we needed to change our address on our accounts etc. I said something and then mentioned my 'fiance' and he said, 'you are married now, you can call him your husband!' I giggled and said, yep, gonna take a while to get used to that one.
So he goes and prints some documents that I need to sign and I say 'since my fiance isnt here, what should I do on the lines where he needs to sign' and he says 'husband' ... ugh
He gets up to deposit the money and I said ' oh wait, my fiance needs .... yadda yadda' ... again he looks at me and says 'repeat after me ... H U S B A N D' now im red from blushing.
So I get up to walk out and he hands me a little 'hello my name is sticker' that says ' HUSBAND' and tells me to have larry wear it until I can get it straight ...
I dont know if ill ever get the husband thing down

Aww I dont think you made a fool of yourself. I think it takes everyone a while to get used to. I called Brian boyfriend for a LONG time before I got used to calling him fiance.
I wouldnt worry too much about it.

I still call FH my boyfriend because sometimes I feel funny calling him my Fiance FH skipped that step and now calls me his wife! I keep telling him he has another 7 months but he doesn't seem to care about that!

Cute story!! I started to call him HUSBAND instead and that's how I got used to it.

ha. i was expecting some kind of horror story. Like you fell over and your skirt flipped up revealing ostrich skin panties, or maybe you totally freaked out on somebody and after 10 minutes of giving 'em a piece of your mind ya find out that it was actually YOUR fault. THOSE are bad. But your story isn't 'foolish' at all. lol. So don't worry about it. That's funny though. I think it'll definitely be weird getting used to HUSBAND. Just saying 'Fiance' still sounds weird to me. lol. So was 'boyfriend' actually. Maybe i just have issues.
