So I probably should not have been offended but...
I was shopping today and looking through some dresses. Now, I wear about a 4/6. I started picking up dresses off the rack and noticing that they were all 0 or 2. The sales girl then walked over and said we have additional dresses that are larger sizes in the back.
Now, why wouldn't they just put out one of each size for people to try on. Why do they have to be hidden? I was offended that she said 'larger' sizes. I mean, how could the standard size for women be a 0?

im a 14-16 so she probably would have pointed to the door for me. if a size 0 is 'norm' than im morbidly obese!

I think i would have told her that was offensive and left. Not that a sales girl cares if you dont buy anything but thats not right. That is sending such a wrong message to all the teens that shop in that store.

That is offensive & last time I checked the average size woman was a 14- so she had some nerve calling a 4-6 a 'bigger size'... hope she doesnt work on commissions otherwise she'll starve with that attitude

people don't even realize sometimes what they say can be harmful I would never say something like that especially in a clothing store -

Just being fair but maybe she didn't mean anything by it?? I usually see alot of 0 or 2 sizes because that's all that's left. Most women are not a size 0 or 2 so they don't sell out as fast.
Just a thought.

Did she really say larger in an offensive way?? Because those LITERALLY are 'larger' sizes than a 0 or 2. I mean, only you were there and you know the tone she said it in--but I think it is possible that she didn't realize she was saying it offensively. Just saying.

i don't really think that sounded offensive. it sounds like she knows how the store is set up, with only sizes 0 and 2 out, and was trying to let you know that they do have other sizes available in the store. i know that's happened to me before in other stores, where the sales person was proactive in telling me other sizes were available. JMO.

Heck I am an 18-20 right now...and I have lost a little weight recently..still losing too Some people have no manners. The sales associate could simply have asked if there was another size they could help you find. No need to place a stigma on it. Hope you find an outfit you love !!
