I am like you ...when i am upset i talk about it. But i think you should vent with only your close friends/family. You don't want any..in the heat of the moment comments getting back and making your life more stressful.

I don't think it is a big deal at all unless the BM was you FBIL!!! What is the relationship? Also, who cares if the BM thinks it is inappropriate. Would your FI really care (mine wouldn't)?

Oh my!!! Sometimes I get the same response if I vent about the 'other' family!!! What is weird (from my experience) is that the groom's friends as much as they may agree, will almost automatically side with their family!!! It is almost an overprotective response!!!!

I wish i had the guts sometimes to speak my mind just then maybe my mom would back off a little... but because i am afraid to hurt her feelings and don't want the drama(which trust me she is all about drama) i just sit there and take it.... i usually tell my fh and vent on him but other then that i guess you can say i take after my cats afraidie cat.
hehe! don't worry it's better to vent and let it out then to hold it in like me and have a break down cause of it! keep you head high!

I don't think it was inappropriate. The best man was being a 'guy' and is probably not used to this kind of stuff because men in general do not vent. I don't mean to impose stereotypes on your friend, but from experience I find that guys are a bit uncomfortable when I vent because they want to offer solutions whereas a woman will listen. I got this information from John Gray's Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

I think he just didn't feel comfortable with what you were saying.

well that sounded like a snobbish responce to me. I probably would have responded 'well EXCUSE me', but people do get very defensive of their peeps in times like these. blow it off, youve enough to be concerned about than this guy.

I can completely understand what some of these girls are saying as I went through something similar a week ago. BUT the way I see it he is your BEST MAN, isn't he close enough for you to complain to. Depending who he is but I am assuming he is close to your and your FH. Sometimes you need to vent.
