So, I wasn't invited!

So, I wasn't invited!

Awhile back I had posted how I was planning on asking an old friend of mine to be a BM, but then she never RSVP'd to our eparty or responded to the emails or calls I sent her after. Ok so I think she must be busy, whatever. Then I email her a couple more times....nothing. Try to get her on her myspace...nothing, but I can see that she has signed on. Then I find out she is getting married in September and I'm not invited!! ***! I'm sooo confused, I didn't do anything yet she is avoiding me like the plague. We've been friends since junior high so I'm a little upset. Should I say F it and take her off my invite list for the wedding? or do I continue to try to get a hold of her? I just don't get it!

Umm... it seems like she doesn't consider you such a close friend. She's obviously avoiding you. With friends like that, who needs enemies!
I would forget she ever existed. The h e l l with her. I'm sure you have real friends that would be honored to be your BM.

Knowing the type of person I am, I would be more determined than ever to try to get in contact with her after seeing that! There MIGHT be a valid reason why she is not inviting you. Maybe it is a super small wedding with only family and a few friends? I would definitely want to find out why she is being so distant... If it turns out that she is avoiding you just because she is being b*tchy, THEN I would say F her!

awww this stinks! i'm sorry! i hope you can get in touch with her. i probably wouldn't take the high road - i'd scratch her off the list and out of my life.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GET IN CONTACT WITH HER! she quite obviously does not consider you the friend you consider her! S C R E W HER! Move on & dont invite her to anything! I mean i know its hard to do but she could have at least explained why like maybe she has to many people or she feels like your friendship just wasnt what it was back in JH something. But she never did that so why go out of your way now??

That stinks! I'm sorry... If you want to try and salvage your friendship, call her. If you don't care, then don't.

errr so weird! She lives in RI so we haven't seen eachother in awhile, but we hung out a couple months before the eparty(now its almost a year ago since the eparty) and it was like old times. We were the type of friends where you could not talk for months but then meet up and it was like nothing changed. I may try to reach out ONE more time and then if I get nothing then I'll suck it up and move on. I don't have many girlfriends because, lets face it, girls are usually mean to one another (with the exception of the wonderful site ) so when you don't have many to begin with and then lose one for no reason its hard.

ahhh....don't even bother reaching out to her...she knows what she's doing..besides your better off w/o her at your bridal party...who knows, she may have cancelled on you last minute.

scratch her off your list...she's not that good of a friend.

she sound really flakey. I would just forget about it and write her out of your life. If one day she decides to reach out and contact you, then discuss it with her. but you have already made too many attempts to get in touch. It's up to her now. If she decides to write you off like that, then consider it her loss not yours.

Take her off your list. Seems like you're making all this effort for someone that doesn't want you to be part of their lives.

i'd say f her. there's no point in trying to be friends with someone when they aren't trying.

I am having a small wedding and no bridal party -- and I explained that to every single person. Either why they were a close friend but weren't being asked to be in a bridal party, or that I wanted to give them a heads up that they weren't going to asked with a guest, or that I was really limiting the invite list and I wasn't sure I could invite them -- and everyone was ok, BECAUSE I spoke to them about it. I would stop trying to contact her!

she has made it clear she has no interest...i would just write her off...spend time and offer on people who really want to be around you

Are you sure you weren't invited? Maybe she didn't send the invites out yet. But it is already mid June

I would just forget about her honestly. I certainly would not ask her to be a BM. I would probably scratch her off the invite list to be spiteful also. But that is just me haha. I hope you feel better about it!

I am not saying her behavior is acceptable by ANY means.. The mature and classy way to handle things would be to let people know in advance if you cannot invite them, but a lot of people are not that way! Most likely (unless something terrible happened in her personal/family life that you are unaware of) there will be no valid excuse for the way she has been acting.....

I would like to tell you to just move on but if it were ME personally, it would drive me nuts... I would HAVE to know why she is acting this way, no matter how stupid the reason!!! I wish I could say I would just walk away but I really doubt I would!! in an instance like this, I could not be the bigger person....
