So I went to the doctor and.....

I have SHINGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe this. I am only 22 and apparently most people don't break out with it until their 50's! Apparently its due to extreme stress (which I can say I have between the wedding and my house being built) but it stinks! The physical aspect of it will only last about 10 days but they said the virus itself will remain in your system for a minimum of 3 months with a maximum of possibly years! I am just in complete shock!!! Good news is its not really contaigious but they said there will be days where I won't be able to get out of bed. Doc said I could experience flu like systems and the rash itseld is KILLING me!!!!

I'm so sorry! Take care of yourself 100% and do what the doctor says so hopefully the effects will be minimal by the time your big day comes

I had shingles when I was 19 and it re-occurred in the same exact place a couple of years later. It is really annoying and painful but is does go away quickly. Feel better...

have you ever had mono? Anyone I know who got shingles at a young age had recently had mono--which may just be a coincidence. Feel better.

I had this twice already and I am only 25! Bring on the ulcers.

It is a re-emergance of the chiken pox virus. As long as you have had chicken pox you can get this. Very interesting though.. both times I had it,yes i was stressed, but I was also recently exposed to someone with chicken pox. The doctor says that you don't get it that way 'as far as he knows' but he was baffled by the weird coincedence!

Feel better. I know they hurt. Mine were not too bad but my brothers were. Just don't go around anyone that has never had chikenpox or been immunized because you can give them chicken pox!
