So im thinking about checking out FM entertainment tomorrow....

any questions i should ask? what kind of packages did you guys get? any tips when i go there? I really dont know what i want...im having between 150-200 at my wedding do i need a dj and mc? any info would be appreciated bc im going in not knowing anything about djs LOL (and as of right now im going with out FH- arghhh so hard to drag him anywhere!)

If you want someone to be out there getting everyone dancing then you should get an MC if you just want someone to play music then you can just have the DJ. Ask them how the MC interacts with the crowd do you want someone who's pulling people out of there chairs? Different companies have different policies on this just ask them about it. I didn't want someone doing this so I made sure to ask!! They should pretty much be able to tell you everything else you need to know...Good Luck!!!

I am going to FM tomorrow as well...are you going to the showcase. There was a DJ question thread on here that i found but i don't know how to send the link....so here are the questions pasted from WORD. Thank you to the bride who offered these questions.

How many DJ’s do you have on staff? If I book, how many people will be at my wedding?

Can I see DJ’s live or on video?

Which of these DJ’s are available for my date? Can we meet them before booking? If not, when can we meet them?

Have the available DJ(s) played at my reception hall before? If so, how often?

What is the role of MC? Can DJ just make introductions & announcements?

Are you licensed/insured?

What time will they arrive to setup?

How many hours of coverage are included? Is the CH additional (how long etc)?

Can we go overtime? If so, how much would that cost?

Do you honor Must Play and Do Not Play list?

Will there be breaks? How many and for how long?

Is meal service required?

Is an MC included? If not, how much additional?

Can your DJ’s play comprehensive _______ (enter type of music here) music in addition to slow/dance/r&b/etc? VERY IMPORTANT

What will the DJ(s) wear?

Is there anything that we or the reception hall will need to provide? (i.e., electrical cords etc)

What happens if my DJ is sick the day of?

What type of equipment does the DJ use?

What happens if there’s a problem with the equipment? Backup equipment?

What type of lighting features can we add to the package and how much do they cost?

Can we purchase services a la carte? Or only via a package?

Do you also offer live entertainment? If so, what type of live entertainment and how much additional?

Is there a sampler CD/Video that I can send to fiancé to review?

Is gratuity/service included? If not, how much?

VERY IMPORTANT: Will the DJs engage in alcohol consumption? Want contract to state that DJs will NOT drink alcohol during my wedding.

How much is the deposit?

What forms of payment do you accept? (cc, cash, check, etc) If I pay cash do I have to pay tax?

What is the cancellation policy, just in case? Will we get the deposit back? (MUST BE IN WRITING!)

How do I feel?? Did we click with the DJ etc?

NOTES:

*I have been to 2 other DJ's already and they answer most of these questions off the bat...but its kinda nice to have alittle more.

My DJ company reccommended a 2 man show(DJ & MC) for over 125. Just a word of advice for DJs (and other vendors for that matter). NEGOTIATE! Their list price is not always the lowest price you will pay. Tell them you have a budget lower than their price and work up a bit from there.

FH and i looked at FM and the guy there was really nice. He did a live showcase which was cool. the prices were extremely reasonable. Good luck!
