laser hair removal during the fall/winter. I want to get a few things laser removed before the wedding.....like my bikini line and armpits. I hate shaving these areas! My skin is so sensitive. Anyone do laser hair removal?

Re: So I'm thinking about getting.
Unfortunately thanks to my job I have been deterred from ever considering laser removal.
We had a young woman once who suffered 2-3rd degree burns in her bikini area, a week before she was going away on vaca with her bf. she had really bad scarring too since she had a darker skin tone :(

A friend of mine has it done.. she said it was a little bit painful the first time but got easier as she went more. Only problem is they told her it could take 4-5 times before it wont grow back anymore and she has gone for 8 sessions now so its costing her a fortune

I've never done it, but my cousin swears by it. She had the worst unibrow when she was little. Have you considered waxing?

One of my good friends had her lip done but she still gets some hair growth. Since she had the laser hair removal they told her she can't wax so she has to shave it

Re: So I'm thinking about getting.
Keep in mind you are only about a year out from your wedding and it could take just as long to go through all the treatments. And while going through the treatments you can't go in the sun or shave/wax so you could be setting yourself up for a disaster for your wedding/honeymoon....This is just what I heard so you may want to ask professionals and/or wait until after your wedding!

Re: So I'm thinking about getting.
I'm getting it done now! I have a package of treatments for my lower legs and armpits. It takes a lot of treatments to actually have much less hair growth. It's not an instant thing and they separate them by about 6 weeks. You just can't go in the sun right before and after a treatment. There is definitely some less growth at this point, but I'm pretty far from not having to shave. I will prob need more than the 6 I paid for, but it's fine because I got the package that included free treatments for 3 years if I still have growth (they space them at 11 weeks apart). I should have started in the winter so I could be hair free at this point, but I waited until I got my tax return so I could afford it! LOL.
ETA: as far as pain, the armpits hurt like hell, but it's like 10seconds (that feel much longer!) and the legs hurt a little bit, but not unbearable. I used a numbing cream she gave me and it hurt much less. I'm too scared to get my bikini done!

Ha, the above comment scares me. I just sarted waxing my eyebrows a few years ago cause I was scared of the pain. It sounds like waxing is less painful.

I'm also looking at getting my arm pits and facial hair done. Tired of waxing and getting burnt by the hair remover creams.

Re: So I'm thinking about getting.
I used Theresa Foster RN from Cactus Salon in Commack. She was amazing! It didn't hurt or burn me at all.
Here is her website

Re: So I'm thinking about getting.
I am getting my arm pits done. Shaving doesnt bother me just my armpits are sooo sensitive. My office at work does it. IT can get very expensive!! You have to go a few times. Luckily I dont have to pay for it. Def. make sure you research where you go~
