so it turns out we are doing save the dates

so it turns out we are doing save the dates

fh asked me this morning when I was sending out saved the dates...I stared at him blankly for a moment b/c I thought we weren't doing them...

so, now we are and I am unsure what to do. I want to do something original, and though I love the little calendars with the epics and such I have been seeing, I wanted to do something a little different.

any suggestions....maybe a save the date cookie? I am open to all ideas!

I have to get these done and out by Oct. 23 (6 month) so I need to get moving....

We did a magnet and they were a huge hit! None of our fam/friends had ever done that and everyone loved them. We made them ourselves so if you want more info let me know.

If you do the cookie people (like myself) would eat it and might forget about the date ...until of course they get the formal invite...

lol- that would be fine with me...I THOUGHT maybe they would just put it into their own personal calendar, instead of ME having to provide them with the calendar TOO! I guess I am asking too much! LOL

If you want them to write it in their calendar you'll need to provide them with the pen!! Don't know how a cookie would hold up in the mail, but it is a cute idea!!

Thats actually a good idea!


I've seen STD pencils.

The last one looks a little Shakespearean.

that first one, with the cookie, is right along the lines of what I was thinking, but all of them were cute.

I am going to send these pics to my friends to see what she can do.

I used Creative Montage and she will create something original for you. I found her prices to be very inexpensive and my STD's came out fabulous.

thanks, but a friend of mine is actually a graphic designer and she does all of this stuff for me...I just like to come up with the ideas so I don't feel completely useless ( and my wedding invites and stuff are going to be a pain, so I am trying NOT to abuse her friendship! LOL)

i was thinking about maybe making candy lollipops from the molds you can buy and then attach a ribbon and small card that says save the date

The magnets we sent were a big hit... everyone told me they put them on their refrigerators, and that made me feel special.

(you could buy envelopes- it would have cost 10.00 more, But the problem was that were adding a letter to it and the letter didnt fit in the size envelope, so we went to staples and bought the long envelopes that are made of that pretty paper that has flowers on it, it is organic or something , youve all seen them , they make this paper for journals and notecards too-)

it was perfect! and cost like 4.00 for all the envelopes

for the bookmarks- it didnt come with envelopes , but you could buy them too

and i dont know about the crosswords- i like them but i didnt look into price
