I feel like I'm so far behind! The only things I have done are the date, RH, and hairdresser. I don't even know exactly how many bridesmaids I am going to have!

You'll get there. Honestly, I have done the majority of my bookings over 2 marathon Saturdays! And a few over the phone and online.
I still have plenty to do! Like even though I booked the florist, I have not actually chosen my flowers yet!
All of a sudden, you will have a weekend with 4 or 5 checks, and it all starts to look like a lot less work.
All I can say is that I recommend ordering online items early. Etsy vendors need time, and some items may be backordered.

aww. Don't stess!! A lot of people on here are really far ahead. I didn't start truly planning until July for a March Wedding. Just follow the checklists and you'll be good

I like it makes it more frustrating because FH and I live in the city, so it makes finding things harder - like, we can look online, but if we want to meet with someone we'd have to come out to LI which gets to be a pain after a while!

I live in Washington DC, and FH is in Ithaca! I did a lot of research online and over the phone. We booked limos and DJ over the phone! I have not actually met the photog! I spoke with him, and my mom went and met with him, and then we did the contract through the mail.
I have come to NY for 3 weekends for planning (one in August, 1 in September, and 1 in October) and have booked the Church, done FOCCUS, registered for PreCana, booked the RH, sent STDs, chose wedding bands, booked DJ, booked photog, booked florist, chose my dress, did my hair and makeup trial.

I'm looking to book ANYTHING next! Priority is band and photographer, since florists can do more than one event a day but the others cannot.
I'm going to 3 bridal stores on Nov 11 so maybe I will have a check then.

I am in the same boat - FH and I both work in the city and live in NJ so making appointments gets difficult because we have to drive to LI (O M G THE TRAFFIC!!!) then drive home to NJ.
Needless to say, I am behind in the planning if I compare myself to other brides with a similar wedding date which pushes me to book things.
I've just been doing a TON of research on vendors and talking on the phone which can eliminate trips.

If you are interested in a band I just booked Rapsody!! In my opinion, they are amazing. I saw them at a showcase and was blown away. Booked them on the spot! (and Im not an on the spot kinda girl,lemme tell ya) I think there's a showcase coming up the end of this month - I'm taking FMIL and FFIL to hear them, I'll check on that and FM you the details If you want?!?

If it makes you feel better...I'm not even in the first step of the wedding ladder...I'm starting this weekend..I have nothing booked but with God's help everything will fall into place.

I know exactly how you feel. I just came back from a vacation with my mom, and I don't want to do anything. :) My weddings is in April, and I don't have flowers, officiant, a dress, BM Dresses, invitations, gifts. I still didn't send out my STD magnets. Hopefully this weekend, I will get something done. But I believe we can do it, one weekend at a time.

Today I did something that made me feel better - I made a wedding organization binder. I got a binder close to the purple color I think I want, section separators, and pocket folders, and printed a whole bunch of templates for wedding organizing from a site someone had posted previously. It made me feel a bit better and more in control of everything.

dont worry I havent done a darn thing yet! we have a lot of stuff planned and we have spoken w a lot of vendors but its all depending on when we can get a date

HAHA - yes, I guess it is nice knowing there is someone who is more behind than me! Juuuuust kidding!
Seriously though - making the binder made me feel like I had a bit more control over the whole situation.
