Is anyone planning on hosting a holiday at your new apartment/house this year as newlyweds?!? I've been thinking about maybe christmas but idk we have to see where our new place is at by then since we're getting married a month before.

We really want to! We usually alternate Christmas in between FI's family and my family. His parents are in GA and mine are in NYC. We live upstate. We thought about possibly inviting everyone to Christmas at our house and then if they don't it'll be like 'well we invited you and you didn't want to come!'. Oh well, I guess we'll eb sticking at home this year for Christmas. Hehe. Not sure becuase in the enxt year or two we'll probably be starting a family and would be traveling less for the holidays. So.
But I LOVE hosting family get together!!

FH & I already host Thanksgiving, Christmas Day & Easter. since we have such a small apartment we don't invite that many people. Thanksgiving its FMIL, FHs grandmother, FHs aunt, uncle & every other year FHs cousin & his girlfriend. Christmas Day its FMIL & FHs grandmother. Easter its FMIL, FHs grandmother, FHs aunt, uncle & every other year FHs cousin & his girlfriend.

We did Thanksgiving this year for the first time. I enjoy hosting, but the problem is there are 14 people that come. And my dining room table only holds at the most 10 people squashed in. So I think I'm going to hold off hosting until we get a bigger table or, our families agree to buffet style. We tried to put a card table at the end of the table but the doorway is too narrow to fit it. And they all have to eat at the same table. I'd love to take July 4, cause we have a great deck and yard for BBQ's, but it's my birthday and I don't feel like cleaning and cooking on my birthday.

no...our apartment isnt big enough to host a bunch of people.
as soon as we get our own house though I plan to host a big hoiday dinner!

I might be taking on Easter. I'm even considering doing it this year, but there's so much going on that I'm not quite sure yet.
ETA: We also do Superbowl, Mother's Day, and NYE every year.
