So just got home from the FIL's...........a little bit of a vent

So just got home from the FIL's...........a little bit of a vent

And I had asked FH before we got there to see how much money our budget is on flowers since his parents are paying for them.........
So FH was like yeah so once the kitchen is done then we have to finish the wedding plans......we still have to do the flowers.....How much can we spend on the so we know? Well....his mom was like well, you know you dont need anything fancy so it wont be that much.
HUH???????????
Not to be rude but its MY wedding and I should be able to get the flowers I want.....and not have someone tell me what to get........Of course I didnt say that but I was a little upset.
So is the damn limit $500 bucks, $250?? Who knows............
Oh and then......FH mentioned that we all have to get together and put together the CP's.....she tells me that she thinks I should rethink them......she doesnt think they will look nice.......

Um, are you kidding me???????
Im so upset right now....Im trying not to let it bother me.
The only think I was thinking of changing was on the CP.....I was thinking of spray painting the silver things gold......but now I dont even know.

I would be pissed off too!!..Im sorry you are dealing with that..even tho you really shouldnt being that they offered to pay..she shouldnt be telling you that you dont need anything fancy..W T F!!

I am in a similiar siutation with my future in-laws...They offered to contribute to the wedding in general...now with 3mths left to the wedding I have received nothing from them...I keep telling FH to remind them..which he does, but still no money...I mean, I dont want it to be a mth before the wedding and they tell me that they dont have money to contribute..that would piss me off a lot!

I'm sorry for your stress. It is very aggravating. I also am going through the same thing. Some older people have no clude how much things cost today. If FMIL is rethinking the CP's (which is none of her business) then she should be prepared to give you guys more $$ for flowers. My brother originally said he would pay for the church fees (I lost my parents so I guess he felt he wanted to do something) $500 church + $150 organist+$50 singer=$700. Yesterday when I saw him, I casually brought it up and he said 'Oh I'll give you $50 for the singer'. I said to myself, ok, I guess I'll have to pull the rest out of the sky... It *****. I'm starting to worry where the $$ is going to come from.

I'm so sorry I know exactly how you feel. My FMIL acted the same way about the RD. It was the one thing she agreed to pay for so now she feels the need to disregard all my ideas. FILs can be such a pain

That was real nice....He should have questioned her more about the money!!! Guys have no balz! I am dealing w/ issues w/ his mom too and he Never wants to ask the exact question, I think he is scared of her!
