So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

here's mine.... right after the first dance my bustle ripped and I had to carry around my train all night.
My dress was slightly to long, so I had to hold it up in the front slightly when I walked or danced (this was my fault for not walking w/ it more at the seamstresses).I thought FH.... er DH saw me just MINUTES before the wedding and I nearly burst into tears, like how a little kid crys, but he didn't see me (whew) RAIN... but it was not raining during the church. and one BIG thing that I am deciding if I should even post in my reveiw or not.

Now heres the thing, (for brides to be) NONE of the things (except when I thought DH saw me) affected me in the slightest!! It was still the best day ever!! I was just so happy to finally be..... his wife (wife, what a beautiful word....)

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

hmm..
My mom spilled champagne all over the front of her dress right before we walked down the aisle

A couple who have been married 6 months won the anniversary dance (they are in their 70's though, so no one knew but us)

Any of the stupid little things that went wrong didn't matter though, it was the most perfect day EVER!

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

Hmmm one of my BMs was a biatch and my MOH walked in to the hotel with an attitude. That is, until one other BM and Jenn & Oksana put them in their place.

The only other thing I can think of was our We Do letters were only on our cake table temporarily, our DJ played our original choice in song for the recessional (we had changed it the day before, so no biggie) and the hall forgot to present 2 people with birthday cakes (again a last minute request, so not a big thing.)

Otherwise everything was amazing and I tried not to let anything get to me and just enjoy every minute!!!

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

My girlfriends husband was smoking a cigar and when it was time to take off her garter, he put the cigar in his mouth so he could use both hands and...... when he bent over to lift her dress he burnt a whole in her dress! NO JOKE!

Mine did, too! Luckily I didn't have a very big or heavy train and my BM was able to pin it up. But I almost tripped over it and killed myself during the hora and there are pictures of my bridesmaid holding it and running behind me. It was pretty funny, actually.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

hmmm, the major thing but no one had control was I was sick with some stomach flu the day of my wedding. I was unable to enjoy the food but made the best of my day

My mom spilled a little champagne on her gown right before we left for church.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

Well...the major thing (and I think the only one)that went wrong

was my flower girl (she was 3) getting sick in the car on the way to the church and throwing up all over her beautiful dress (sorry if TMI).....I only had one so I was left with none....I was upset for a while because I don't have any flower girl pictures and also the ring boy had to walk alone.....

oh well....things happen....otherwise the day was perfect.......

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

We only had 2 mishaps....my DH's sister, also my bridesmaid, skipped out an hour into the reception. She tried to sneak out and didn't expect DH and I to be outside taking pics. Haven't spoken to her since. She also kept saying 'you think this is hard, wait till you give birth'. My photographer finally told her to shutup.

And MIL showed up in the same dress as my mom, my Mom was LIVID!!!

But over all, these problems had no bearing on what the day really meant to us and that was the beginning of a beautiful life together.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

You'll read it in my review.

Honestly, I agree, little things happened throughout the day, but I was so happy, it really didn't bother me, I had a spectacular day.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

My dress was a little too long and I was stepping on it all night. (see my review), but other than that, the day went off without a hitch....

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

To be honest, nothing really went 'wrong'. The florist put the cake flowers around the cake instead of on top. But that's really no biggie.

But I really wanted to post just to tell the brides to be, not to stress. In hindsight, all the stuff I stressed about leading up to the wedding was all for nothing. Day of, the people you paid to do your wedding will take care of it all. The tiny little details that you stressed over will not matter. Just forget everything and enjoy your day. I did and I am so happy for it.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

well... little background- DH and i lived 2 hours apart the whole time we were dating...
the wedding was down by me. so he comes down the day before, everythings fine- the morning of the wedding, hes having breakfast with his GMs, and realizes he forgot his passport at this parents house 2 hours away!! and we were going to the british virgin islands the next day for our honeymoon, so he needed it!
so they were trying to figure out which one of the GMs was gonna drive 2 hours there and back to get it- but luckily, a friend who lived up there hadn't left yet- so she was able to break into DHs parents house using the hidden key and get the passport and bring it with her to the wedding-
of cuorse, everybody knew but me- they didn't want me to get upset... DH told me after the ceremony when we were on our way to the reception hall! LOL

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

My grandmother had all the envelopes w/the tips and/or final payments and when she left she didn't realize she had them! So we had to scramble around borrowing money from family and ripping open the cards to see if anyone gave us cash - I was surprised at how many people did.

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

my bustle broke as well, but not until the end of the night, I did not get to eat my cake (except for the little piece that DH fed me at the cake cutting)

everything else was great and the day was MAGICAL

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

All of my bridesmaid's bustles broke but the saftey pins worked great!

MOH spilled an entire pint of beer down one of my BM dresses just before we walked into the reception lol bathroom attenedent cleaned it up right away

Nephew puked on my mom during our first dance so when the second song (parents song) came on my dad was all by himself lonely looking for her She came out the last few seconds of the song and felt so bad so it was kind of cute

Drunken guest did all sorts of things that I keep hearing knew stuff every other day! We kicked him out during dinner but it's funny to talk about!

All of this was nothing and just part of a fun day except for!!! The ***** who faught with me on my wedding day and then cried that I am sooo mean to her and my MIL was so drunk that she yelled at my DH. That I won't forget ever!

All in all my day was so much fun!!!! I love my DH and my friends soooo much more!

Re: So, ladies, what went wrong on your wedding day?

The really stubborn best man (DH's uncle) made the bartender's open early so he could get a drink....WHILE we were taking bp pictures! Everyone is SCREAMING for him.

My veil fell off during the ceremony

But the little things really, really don't matter!

At my SIL's wedding, the officiant called her the wrong name , and now it is just a funny story!
