SO listen to this drama...

SO listen to this drama...

My girls planned my bachelorette party on the night of another friends wedding. They had good intentions - they did it because they wanted to surprise me and knew that I would be in town.

So I tell my friend I will still be attending the ceremony and about 3 hours of the reception. She decided to go crazy and then boycotts my shower because of it!!!

Now, I *almost* feel like not even going to her wedding.

Edited - added some more in other post below.
Thanks for your thoughts ladies! The reason it can't be changed is because I live in Florida and will only be in Ohio for Saturday night and Sunday morning. With the wedding so close, I really can't spend the money on traveling so much!

I guess I will just have to deal with her being upset. It's just a crappy situation all around.

well i would be upset too if I were her. I think the bm's should have picked another date you didn't have to leave your friend's wedding for your bachelorette party. I am not saying I necessarily agree with her boycotting your shower bc of it, but I do totally understand why she would be hurt.

is it possible to ask your bms to swtich the b-party date?

I have to agree. I'd be pretty pissed if one of my friend's scheduled her b-party on my wedding date - especially since I sent out STD's a year in advance. Why don't YOU pick the date for your b-party? I gave my girls a list of 3 dates that I was available and told them which one I preferred the most.

Yeah I totally agree...did you already RSVP already? I would feel awful leaving my friends wedding for my own bachelorette. I remember my BMs planned my entire bachelorette party for one date. A week before my sister made them cancel it and reschedule because she had to fly to Florida to solidify plans for HER wedding. I remember feeling upset that our wedding was getting the shaft and she couldn't do it a different weekend. I kinda see where your friend is coming from. Sorry.

I agree with everyone. Is there any way you could change the date for your party?

I have to agree with the other ladies, I'd be pretty upset if I was your friend. Maybe not so upset as to boycott your stuff. but still upset.
Like Laura said, can you change the date yourself?

Gotta say I agree with everyone else. If you can't change the date, can you push up the time so you can attend the entire reception?

Sorry, but I also agree with the other girls. You should try to switch the date or change the time. Like everyone has said at one point or another, this is a wedding, not a back yard BBQ.

I agree with the other girls. I'd be really upset too...I don't agree with boycotting the shower. However, I'd be really annoyed if people planned a bachelorette party for the night of my wedding and left earlier because of it.

I totally agree with her. I'd be so pissed if someone left my wedding early to go to their b-parrty. Esp when the wedding date was determined many months prior to selecting the date for the b-party.

ok so you shouldn't have said anything to her and just left the reception early. She probably would have never have noticed. Now you have hurt your friend and I don't think you can fix it.

How would you feel if on your special day you friend left your wedding to go hang out at a bar. Honestly I wouldn't talk to you anymore.

ITA!!! She is paying for you to be at the wedding the whole time. . . . with you being there for 3 hours you won't get all the food corses - I would be upset. I would try to move the b-party or maybe back out of the wedding. jmo

Have to agree with everyone else - If it were me I would be pretty upset/mad/hurt. I would try to change the bparty date, but at this point, it might be too late to fix your friendship.

I would try to switch the date of the B party...i know your girls had good intentions, but you are committed to going to her wedding. It's a bit rude to leave for your bparty

It's an immature move though to boycott your shower.
