Mom and I went to Paradise Bridal on Friday to begin looking for her MOB dress. Well, to our surpise she found one that she absolutely loved! It was so stunning on her and she could not believe how wonderful she looked! Well, we ordered it immediately and that was it. I get a call this morning, saying the dresss that we ordered has been discontinued since last month and they are no longer making it!! What!!!! how can you have a dress on th rack that is no longer being made!!! They wanted me to come in to choose and order a new one! i immediatley said I will not be coming in any time soon and just credit my account for the $300 deposit I left!! i called mom and she was so upset!!!

Jaime the same thing happened to my mother at the shop where she got her dress. They stopped cutting the dress and the shop didn't even know. I guess they were trying to sell a sample. If you can say everything happens for a reason, and that you do have time on your side, it WILL all work out. My mother ended up with a much more elaborate dress that is so much more flattering for her than her original choice. I was upset for her too but you WILL find something.
ETA: Be glad they called you now and not closer to the wedding.

I dont think that would be a Paradise Issue - more like the manufacturer for not INFORMING Paradise.

They might have not known. Sometimes the manufacturers don't update the stores regularly. They probably called to place your mom's order and then were told that the style was discontinued. It might not be the fault of the store. Would it possible for your mom to buy the sample and have it altered?

Is it possible to get the sample dress?? You may be able to get it at a discount. If not, I believe things happen for a reason, she might be able to get something even better. Good luck!!!

she cannot get the sample dress b/c it is too big for her and then can only alter it to a certain size! I am so upset!

Maybe you can call around to other stores and see if they have a sample in another size.

Jamie - the same thing happened to my sister when she ordered her wedding dress! After many tears (and many beers) her then FH managed to get the designer on the phone to find out they still had enough material left to make ONE more dress. Give it a shot - can't hurt! Also, maybe the manufacturer can tell you what other salons have samples and you can get one.

I would agree with the others about calling the manufacturer and checking to see if they have samples elsewhere. You never know, you might get lucky!!
