so mad - glencove mansion

i am fuming ... sorry so long but what is your opinion?

so I blocked 20 rooms at GCM for the night of my wedding for out of town guests, family and friends. everything has been great - up until 2 days ago.

One of my best friends is getting married this weekend (im the MOH) in Glen Cove so I REFERED her to GCM to block rooms. I called the other day to check on my block so I figured I would also again confirm my reservation for this weekend for my friends wedding.

Well - they DONT have my reservation and they are UNWILLING to let me reserve a room at block rate. They wont even let the bride block another room eventhough they openly said YES there are rooms available.

I gave them my business, I refered this wedding to them and now they cannot do right by me for $50. (block rate is 169 - regular is 229). So now I will have to go home after this wedding, i am the MAID OF HONOR


I am so mad, I am considering canceling my block and letting them take me to small claims.

To make matters worse, the manager whom we were working with is no longer there. No one contacted us, they dont return calls.

im sad that I wont be able to celebrate with my best friend (and friends). Im not booking a room at full price just on principle. I would rather drive home at 3 am then stay with them when they wont help me after giving them 40 rooms worth of business

how did u book, on the phone or online? did they give you a confirmation number?

on the phone - they took my CC# and everything they said 'there is nothing we can do if you don't have an online confirmation number'

how would I have that if i booked over the phone?

I would cancel the block because the same nonsense could happen to one of your guests.

Why would they take you to small claims court? A block simply holds rooms for your guests. There's no obligation -- unless you signed a contract or something.

I totally agree with you. I'm not thrilled with their customer service or ability to be flexible either. I am booked there for 2 nights and I might cancel one or both. I purposely didn't block b/c I wasn't sure I could fill the block and I wasn't paying.

I cannot believe for $50 they won't budge.

FH just called to make sure we could still add rooms to our block (since they wouldnt let my friend add) and already they are giving us problems saying that we need to give them a number NOW ***?

I do remember something like you have to block in quantities of 10 or 20 (don't remember) so it is true that they told me I couldn't just add one or two more rooms, they are in groups of 10 or 20.

so frustrating! seriously, i will pass out on the floor of their lobby with my sleeping bag if need be!

you have to push harder with these people.. even if the manager says i am the top manager ask for thier boss ,,,,it is an outrage ... you are a the moh.. do you want me to call for you !!! i will and believe me you will have champagne and strawberries in your room

i am just so tired of dealing with people its things like this that ruin wedding experiences and tarnish the hotel business

I had called them for when i was looking into blocking rooms for my wedding.
I was not happy at all with their customer service

I went elsewhere, I worked with Four Points Shereton and had a wonderful experience.

I would cancel the block of rooms you have their
