So many choices for RH

We are getting married Columbus Day weekend of 2008. Been looking for venues...I am from Staten Island and FH is from Connecticut so we are looking in the Bronx, New Rochelle, Queens area because those are about midway.

I know there have been postings about this--but many seem like from a long time ago.
Anyone been married recently at either of these places?
-Surf Club New Rochelle
-Glen Island Harbor
-Marina del Rey

We went to MdR first and fell in love, but are not sure if/how they deal with multiple weddings at the same time...(ie do they spread them out, overlap, bathrooms, etc)

We liked Glen Island but they might do not have availability to do the ceremony at the time we want.

Surf Club seemed like good food but we witnessed two Staff Members that seemed pretty rude

Advice? Comments? Reviews?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have looked at so many places but cannot decide.

my g/f just booked marina del ray. she only had good things to say about them.

my other g/f is getting married at glen island and she has nothing but good things to say about them. she chose glen island over surf club.

Haven't been to MdR or GI but my cousin had his reception at the swan club last july and it was really good. There was plenty of food everywhere -- the CH and VH were both outside and it looked so nice. They even had fireworks to open the VH. They also took pics outside before and during CH overlooking the water with the family and sent us all copies. If there was more than one wedding there that day I wouldn't be able to tell. The 'deck' was right outside the ballroom and there was a 'private entrance' that i saw no other people walking through except from our party. Can't complain from a guest's point of view.

did not realize...thought i did it once on the LI board and once on the NY board...guess they are the same...

We were going to do the sunday evening reception at GIH. someone else is using the ceremony room at that time. The afternoon is available, but I do not know how we feel about the wedding ending so early (5 ish). Since it is the holiday weekend we were looking for the evening.

Did not look at Fountainhead. Knew it was the same people--just a bit too far for Staten Islanders we thought. Plus we really liked the water obviously.

We shall see
