So my Dad....

So my Dad....

Stopped into a tux place the other day, to look around. (Pretty funny)! The people that work there asked when my wedding was. When my father told them June, they told him that is a extremely busy month, and I should start ordering now. I think they were just trying to get my dads business. I think it is to early to order tuxes.

What do you guys think?

Actually I would agree with the tux people...June is a BIG prom & wedding month...It doesn't hurt to have them picked out now. Styles don't change that much!

Did you ever think they would have to do this so early. I mean we still have 5 months. I thought about 2 months before. FH has 7 grooms men (too many). It is going to be rough getting all of them together.

Just so you know, FH & I just did the tuxes the other day...You do not need to get all the guys to go with you...FH & I went & then we told the GM's this is where they are & they are $$ amount of dollars...My brother went yesterday to get fitted.

Re: So my Dad....

My wedding is in Aug.. we picked out the tuxes in october. I wanted to get the style & price so all the GM can come from NJ to get fitted. There are still more who need to get measured, but atleast they have ample time to make arrangements. Plus I fell in love with A Jean Yves tux and I had to have it for my wedding

I just like to get everything out of the way, so I can concentrate on saving and paying.

I told FH to try to get the tuxes done by the end of the month, no later than Feb. 15th. If he had his way, he would start looking 2 days before the wedding!!

But May & June are big prom and wedding months, so I wouldn't hesitate!!

Wow, thanks for the tip. FI planned to go next month but maybe I'll push him to go a little earlier.

It is going to be hard to get all 7 of the guys together (My FH has 7 guys too) but I just want my dad and FH to at least pick out the style to get that done. Then the guys can go in 1 by 1 or whenever they can get there to order it before April.

Re: So my Dad....

I'm getting a little stressed with all these people (not you guys, of course) telling me to book quickly because it's prom season, you don't want to miss the rates, you need to book book book and book it NOW! It seriously raises my blood pressure. I need to follow a schedule, I had everything planned and now we must look for tuxes and it just throws me off! Gah! Where's the 'pulling out my hair' emoticon???

Breathe in...breathe out...

Oh...wow. That is good to know. I have to round up the GM (you know men!) and have them go get measured. I was thinking about taking a trip to the tux shop with FH to pick out a style together and then have the guys go this way it is already picked out and they just have to get measured. Do you think that is too 'Bridezilla' of me, and I should let the guys take care of it all?

I guess it doesn't hurt to go and check out places.
Thanks for the tip!

I don't think it's too bridezilla at all!!!

I plan on going with FH to pick out a style.

Wow, I wasn't planning on doing this until March. But granted that it is a busy month with proms and all we prob should start at least looking now. Thanks for the tip!!

I had both with me when we booked tuxes for our October wedding last month!! I want the guys ties to match the girls, so I made sure I had a color swatch (which I've been walking around with since September ). I also had a color swatch of the white from my dress so FH didn't wind up in ivory or something that would look dirty next to my pure white dress.

I have swatches from my BMs gowns, but not my own since I don't start my fittings until April or so. I don't see how they expect us to book these things so early but then say we need swatches. Some girls' gowns haven't even come in yet.
