So my dress is in.. and I think it's the wrong one

So my dress is in.. and I think it's the wrong one

So I went to the salon yesterday and looked at my dress because it just came in. I thought something looked different about it, but since I asked them to change the top of the bodice to a straight top instead of a curved top I thought that was it. So I try it on and the bodice just looks different than I remembered it. I didn't take any pics when I bought the dress because I was not going into the store looking for a dress and so I didn't have a camera and was alone. I bought it at a trunk show, so they told me they didn't have a sample of the dress because it was not a style they purchased. So I have no pics of it to compare this one to. I went around the corner in the salon and saw that they had the same dress on their rack. They said that they decided to purchase it because it was a hot dress. So I kept looking at it and thinking it was wrong. There is just something different about the bodice and the embroidery on it. So I told the store and of course they said it was the same dress that I ordered. They are having a trunk show again at the end of this month but I'm going crazy with this in the meantime. I'm thinking of making an appointment in another store to see if I can find my dress and know for sure whether this is the right dress or not. My question is, what do I do if it is the wrong dress? I'm so upset about this.

I am not 100% certain but if you can definatively determine that it is a different dress than the one you ordered, then they are in breach of contract.

Is the dress style # on the original sales slip???

Try not to stress

i would go tot he trunk show - because usually there is somewone from the company there - i would also look at your receipt it should list the style number bought - to make sure everything is the same

i might first ask the rep if they had made any chages to the style you bought- or if there is a very similar style to yours before talking to them about your problem

Talk to the people who make your dress - and go see if you can try one on elsewhere. Trust your gut and speak up!

Good luck...

Do you like it? Will knowing for sure if it is right dress make you like it more?

You should definitely get what you ordered, but you should decide if you like it before stressing out about it.

Oh man thats a tough one - there must be some number on the receipt.

Sometimes you remember things different than they really are - expecially if you've seen alot of dresses.

good luck

first off it sounds like you are not liking it anymore..right there is a flag for me..your dress is supposed to feel wonderful on you and you sound very disappointed..secondly the model number or dress name should be somewhere on your receipt..but back to my first statement, maybe you should look for something else..

Thanks for your responses ladies. I have the phone number from someone in the company, so I'm going to call him and ask him about the dress. He has met me on a few occassions and I think after a few minutes of talking with me he'd remember me. I'm thinking of going to the company's store in Manhattan directly and telling them the situation. When I called them on Friday though they said they have different dresses in the stores than what they send out to trunk shows. I want to let them know what happened. I hope they didn't change the style of the dress because I really wanted the original one. Can they change the dress style and then send me the new one, not the old one that I wanted? The owner of the salon says she is going to call me tomorrow, but I don't think she'll have an answer for me... Thanks again ladies and I'll keep you updated.
