I have been at my current job over 6 years. FH even proposed here. We had always been a tight knit/family like office. Well about a year and a half ago our practice was bought by Winthrop. While that should be a good thing it has totally ruined that family feel here & has turned our work environment into a miserable place. I have been applying for jobs and nothing bites. It's so frustrating!!
Anyway I am basically just venting but if anyone knows of any office manager/administrative assistant/customer service representative/secretary positions open please let me know. Its been so stressful here and depressing I feel like its effecting everything. I go home after work, cant motivate myself to do anything or exercise and I stress eat. I'm gaining weight when I should be losing

Ugh I know how stressful it can be when you have a terrible work environment. I was in a situation like that with the last family I worked for. If I hear of anything I'll let you know!

Ugh! I know that EXACT feeling!! The job I had last year... gained 12 pounds in 6 months- AWFUL! The best advice I can give you is to get in your car and not look in the rear view mirror... let it go and don't let it ruin your time at home with friends, family and your fiance. You will regret wasting so much precious time on something that is simply A JOB. There are more important things in life, try your best to see the big picture of it all. I know it's super hard, but we are all here to support you!!
I know how you feel when the job starts to affect your outside life. It's so depressing because in order to move forward with the life you want, you have to deal with it until you find something else and it SUCKS.
If you are truly that unhappy, then look aggressively. Craigslist, other job websites, the newspaper (people still post ads in there, believe it or not). Contact staffing agencies. Find companies online that you might like to work for and send your resume to them. At worst, they can keep it on file for when something does open up and at best, they could be looking to hire!

I totally know how you feel. I have a similar situation in my job. I've been looking for new jobs too, and the most frustrating part is that there aren't a lot of people hiring out there!
Good luck!

I know exactly what you're going through. My job I left in March was very similar to that. It became such a hostile environment it was making my outside life difficult. Just keep your eyes and ears open- look on CareerBuilder, Indeed and LinkedIn (you have to make an account for that) but a lot of people find jobs on these websites, especially LinkedIn. Try to stay positive and still laugh whenever you get the chance. Once you laugh then someone else will and at the end of the day people will see it's the same people but just a little different because of bosses.
Good luck!

Ugh I know how you feel! I know it's not that easy to not let your work environment affect other aspects of your life. Easier said than done, huh?
Best of luck! I will let you know if I hear of anything. Indeed.com is one of my go-to job search websites.

Indeed.com is a good one, for sales positions you can try snagajob.com, also craigslist posts a lot of new jobs daily. I sent out 6 resumes Thursday, got hired yesterday. There are tons of jobs out there, I see at least 50 new ones daily, when I was looking over the last 2 weeks.

I can definitely empathize. I'm in a similar situation and have been at my job 7 years this June, but it's going downhill. If I didn't have a mortgage to pay, I would take a pay cut to try something new. I can't afford to gain another pound from stress eating...I have a dress to shop for! LOL. I hope things get better for you--good luck!

Ugh I'm so sorry! I know how frustrating that can be! I switched jobs a few months ago, hugely prego bc of a similar reason. I was lucky enough to find a boss who was willing to hire me despite me going on a maternity leave just 4 months after being hired. Its so hard, i sent out a dozen resumes and when people called to sched interviews i was honest and told um I was pregnant. One place even said nm and didn't set up the interview! Lol just stalk indeed.com everyday! I hope it gets better!!
