Start big! It looks like you've already picked a time if year. If you haven't signed with a venue yet, nows the time! Start a board on here asking for recommendations for your number of guests, within your budget, and some aspects you want. These girls will be incredibly helpful! They're the experts!Don't waste your money on a wedding planner! Trust me, you don't need one!

I'd start with buying a wedding planner book (I have one from the knot, bought it off amazon for a great price) & go from there. You can also google 'how to plan a wedding' - I'm sure you'll get a ton of results!

Here's the link to the planner I bought. This is the binder edition so it's a bit more expensive than the paperback (& it's more expensive than it was when I bought it in December, but if you wait a week or 2 the price might go back down). But I've found it really helpful!http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Wedding-Planner-Organizer-binder/dp/0770433367/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1378752120&sr=8-2&keywords=the+knot+wedding+planner

i bought a binder too, but i dont really use it too much... really only to store stuff (folders are convenient) & use the budget list (barely, but i also use excel for this)weddingwire has really been my best 'checklist' -- plus they have a phone app for easy access

Get your self a binder. first thing you should do is sit down with FH and get an idea of who you want to invite, then start looking for a venue after you find a venue I suggest you look at the house vendors first. Take your time and enjoy your engagement it goes way to quick.Welcome New Vendors
