so overwhelmed

i havent been on the site so much lately bc theres been SO much going on. Our wedding is in 2.5 months and we still have a ton of BS stuff to do and pay off as much of the vendors as we can before the big day...

This past week we threw a house into the mix. We put an offer in on an amazing house in freeport (right by the nautical mile!!!) and got accepted, have gone through the inspection and tomorrow i have to get everything else squared away with calling an attorney (thank all of you girls for your recommendations!!!), and getting the monies ready to hand over for the contract signing.

We were given a tentative closing date of Aug 1. CAN YOU IMAGINE?? like i dont have enough to worry about lets throw a house closing into the mix. cr@p!

part of me was like....well, the house is 160 years old....theres gonna be way too many things wrong with it to fix and we'll end up pulling out when we get the results of the inspection. NOPE....just a few minor things.

Dont get me wrong though...im ecstatic. i LOVE the house....its so us.

I am getting a little frustrated though when i tell people we bought in freeport and theyre like 'oh...i hope youre not planning to raise a family there... blah blah'
Well sassy pants not that its any of your business but im not having kids and if i was what are you gonna say about it???

I think some people live in this sheltered world that they never leave so they have no clue what theyre talking about...this includes my mother.

anyway..im gonna end that rant and follow it with....YIPPEE! I GOT A HOUSE!

Re: so overwhelmed

Congratulations on your home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's amazing and wonderful and you should feel fantastic about that!!!!!

Things will get done, one step at a time. There are definitely some wedding planning things you can just cut from your to-do list if it will help take the stress off. For example, almost all FH have table numbers, so there's no reason to have to make your own. Also, bathroom baskets are not a necessity -- just a nice touch that people will not notice if they're not there. There's lots of little things you can forgo that may be on a massive to-do list that could be stressing you out. Try to take it in stride and it'll all get done!

Try to be happy and things will continue to go along swimmingly!!!!!!!!!!

I say 'f' those a-holes!!!! Honestly sometimes people just find it hard to be happy for people. It is very stressful, believe me, we are going through the same thing right now. So I say CONGRATS, on the house and everything will work itself out!!!! Your wedding will be amazing, and you life together in your new house, which will soon become a home will also be amazing!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

First off congrats on the home!!!!! Second of all it is very simple, Live your life the way you want to live it and don't let ANYONE even your own family rain on your parade. In the end you have to worry about you and FH and whatever family you 2 have together!! Enjoy this time!!!! God Bless!!

Congratulations Jen!!

Its SO BEYOND STRESSFUL buying a home-trust me the day you go to closing is so insane..

If you close August 1st its actually a GOOD THING because you usually don't have a mortgage payment for like 4-6 weeks.

Soooo exciting!

Re: so overwhelmed

Oh I totally hear ya!

We are 32 days away from our big day and STILL havent gotten a closing date yet!!!

We were told last week that we will close in a week or two but no date has been set yet!!

It was very stressful!! There were times where I was crying in the bathroom at work bc I was beginning to crack under all the pressure...

Just take it all one step at a time and ask all the questions you have to your attorney or REA. If you have any questions, feel free to FM me!!

Good luck!!!

Re: so overwhelmed

We hear that all the time from people because we live in Amity Harbor which is technically part of Copaigue not Amityville but people make comments about Amityville SD before realizing that Amity Harbor is this tiny area, a sublet of Copaigue. (And for the record, I wouldn't send my kids to Copaigue schools either but that's a bridge we'll cross when we have kids)

Congrats! I was down by nautical mile tonight I'm so happy for you!

Don't worry about other people and the housing stuff will all fall into place!
