So for the past two days i haven't been able to take an official lunch because there is no one to cover me. So i asked high ups if i can get paid for not being able to take lunch, they tell me since we don't dock you if you are late, have to leave early or anything else then i should understand that they are short staffed and should accomodate them. Which i have many many times not taken lunch and been fine with it never said anything wrong to them, but today i just wanted to go out since yesterday i was trapped here as well. So freaking mad right now. I should walk away turn off the phones for 15 minutes and go hide somewhere..bastids..

Yep that's exactly what i had to.They then have the nerve to say we accomodate you when you have to leave early, just because earlier this week i let them know that in August and September i have to leave 3 lousy days early for my dress...***. They throw this in my face.

ugh! unfortunatley.. all companies are like this... this has happened to me many time.. at least you are sticking it to them by being online!

If it's any consolation, I'm in the same boat...I can't take a lunch, though technically we're allowed a half hour, god forbid you actually go, you're stared daggers. AND, because we don't have sick/personal/vaca time, I get read the riot act when I have the audacity to ask for a vaca, which I've yet to really take, just a day here and there.
Sometimes, small business S/UCKS.

AND, because we don't have sick/personal/vaca time, I get read the riot act when I have the audacity to ask for a vaca, which I've yet to really take, just a day here and there.

I know same here, i could step away for 30 minutes but then when i get back it would be a mess here so that's why i need someone to cover me. It's so not fair we have to go thru these things just because they decide to cut back on their workforce or decide to go on a hiring freeze when they need at least two more people.

Are you exempt? If you aren't then they HAVE to pay you or you could go to the labor once you leave and make TONS of $$$$. FM if you have questions. I do HR for a living.
