So pleased with the world rigth now!

So pleased with the world rigth now!

I was looking for a book to give my DH for our 1st wedding anniversary. Specifically, it has a poem that his late mother used in her speech at our wedding; it's a really beautiful piece by a Russian poet, which is very hard to find.

I accidentally stumbled upon a phone number of a little bookstore in the city. I called her last week and she actually knew exactly which poem I was talking about and she recited it to me by heart! She didn’t have the book in the store but said she will look elsewhere!

Well, she just called me to say that she found the book! YAY It 's only 8 bucks so she isn’t even making much profit! She was just nice being nice and found the book!

Point of the story: there ARE nice people out there!

Sorry to ramble on and on! Just wanted to share!

That's awsome!! Your DH is going to be so touched that you found the poem.

I am feeling the same way too - I was coming out of the bank and some guy actually smiled the biggest smile I have seen in a while, held the door for me and said after you and let me out of the bank before he came in. It's the dumbest thing, but I expect people to not make eye contact and to charge in the door, so this was a pleasent surprise:D

Christine, if everyone did just one nice thing a day, the world would be a much, MUCH nice place! Good deeds create a chain reaction!

Unfortunately, so do bad deeds!

Hey, Alina, ya got that right!

All the Brighten stores told me they didn’t have it; don't who else might have it; don't know if they will EVER have it; don't know if you can order it on line and NO, they can't help me with anything else! I was bummed!

This woman was SUper nice and sounded like she really loves and appreciates books! It was a pleasure talking to her!

the poem is 'Mne ne nado polovini' by yvgeniy eftushenko. It's sooooo beautiful! I love it!!! He is pretty popular and I never imagined i would have so much trouble looking for his work. I guess if it's not modern detective stories or Danielle Steel translations, it's kinda hard to find it, eh?
