I've been making sure to ask about cancellation policies and postponement policies for this reason. Most will use your deposits as retainers...but the RH you would most likely be penalized.

omg i think like that as well...i had the stomach virus for 3 days a few weeks ago and i swear that while living in my bathroom for 3 days all i prayed for was not to get sick on my wedding day

This actually happened to my coworkers daughter. She wound up having to have her appendix out a few days before her wedding. She couldn't get married on her day which was really sad but almost all of the venors worked with her. Her RH was CLM and they were so cool about it they let her take an open date in November which was an off time but it was ok (she was supposed to get married in August I think). The only vendor that didn't work with her was the florist. Since they still had to pay my coworker brought all of the flowers into work because she didn't know what to do with them. CLM said that in all the years they had never had something like this happen so the I think the odds are slim.
I know with My RH that as long as we book a date within 6 months all the money for the hall is complete transferable to that day. Not sure about all my vendors.

I was nervous about this as well...FH always ends up doing something to throw his back out or need a doctor for smoething. All the vendors I booked will only give a portion back...to move it to another day. Soo...I told FH to walk around in a bubble... LOL.
