I never thought that this would happen to me. My Maid of Honor doesn't want to be in my wedding anymore because I invited her to my food tasting 4 days before the event. I didn't know if I was going because of work. When FH got the day off I told everyone. We have been friends since we were babies and she doesn't want to speak to me anymore. I told her that it was ok if she couldn't make it and I apologized to her. I don't know what to do. Please help... She bailed on me when I needed her the most. I need another Maid Of Honor but I don't want my girls to feel like they are second best. What do I do? Everyone warned me that she may do this to me due to her break up with her ex fiance. I was supposed to be her Maid Of Honor but the wedding was called off. I'm so hurt.

Re: So sad
If shes willing to drop out over something as silly as not being asked to go to a tasting until a couple days before it sounds like your better off without her. As for her broken off engagement, I feel bad but jealousy is probably playing a big factor here. Mabye sit her down and try to talk to her. If nothing else, Im sure that whoever you do end up asking wont feel second best. Whoever it is that you end up asking will understand the situation and if that person really is a good friend to you and MOH worthy then she will step up and be there for you. Hopefully it will all work itself out!

Awe, so sorry that is really horrible! Such a silly reason for her to call it off, there are so much worse things in life, she probably still is dealing with her break up. I am sure a BM would totally understand if you asked one to step in and be your MOH or maybe wait a little and see if the situation just needs some time to cool off... but I think you have every right to move on if you want (I think that's what I would do).
Hope your feel better! Things always work one way or another :)

Omg! I am soo sorry! I had the same thing happen with one of my bridesmaids. It really hurts. I would try to talk it over with her but if that doesnt work be honest with one of your girls and explain the situation. I am sure the all love u and would be honored to be ur MOH. Good luck!

I'm sorry but that sounds terribly immature of her. How awful to do this to you!

Thats very unfortunate and sad. I hope you guys can work it out. She is probably taking it hard that her relationship didnt work out. It is probably mis aimed at you because she is heartbroken.

I'm so sorry to hear your MOH bailed on you. I can only imagine it hurts, and it sounds like she's being ridiculous about not being invited to the food tasting until 4 days before hand.
It definitely sounds lke this has to do more with her calling it off, and perhaps it will work out over time

I agree 100%! I'm sorry that she bailed on you. Maybe she is not ready to be in someone else's wedding since she is still dealing with her own misfortune. She just handled it all wrong and used the short invitation notice as an excuse (BTW, 4 days is NOT short notice at all!). Good luck & I hope you can work it out & hopefully she realizes what she did & apologizes. Bottom line, she should not have done that to you as a friend.

It sounds like she is taking her pain out on you. Maybe she is a little bit jealous because her wedding did not work out and yours is. Give her a little time, maybe she will come around. Ask other bridesmaids for advice or for help, if they are good friends they will understand the situation and try to help out. I hope it works out for you!

ITA with what both ladies have said. With her breakup she is prob in no position at the moment to be in someone elses's wedding bcuz all she is going to think about is her almost wedding. I believe she was looking for an excuse and used something as silly as not having enough notice to a food tasting... C'mon that is ridiculous! She obviously handled this wrong but its prob bcuz shes hurting. I think u should def have a tlk with her to get to tbe real issue and let her know if its too much to be in the wedding u understand but don't use some bs excuse. Hopefully u both can have a honest and open convo and this will not affect your friendship. GL!

So sorry you are going through this It is definitely a ridiculous reason so obviously she is going through some tough times. I have a friend whose marriage is a complete disaster right now and because of her crazy husband I might lose her from my bridal party as well. It is a sad thing but if she can't be there to support you then those that can will surround you I am sure. Good luck!
