So Sad... NWR and Long.

My parents' went to Jones Beach last night after dinner to walk on the boardwalk. They went for ice cream afterwards and was driving down Jerusalem Avenue to our house. They were at a light and a day laborer was on his bicycle and went to peddle to the other side of the street. My dad was driving behind a black Jetta who was the first car at the light. The Jetta hit the man, trampled over him and kept going. My dad swerved around the person who was hit and sped to catch up to the Jetta. They couldn't get him. I can't believe how someone who would hit someone with their car could leave them for dead. My parents' went back and there was a lady with the man. He was face down on the road. My parents' called the cops and they came down. Luckily the car was identified and the cops will probably scan for every black Jetta in the area. My parent's are witnesses in the case and so is the other lady that say the whole ordeal.

People are really heartless. They really are. I hope this person that hit this poor man gets what he deserves!

that's insane who are these people?
my friend was in an acaident (it was a minor fenderbender) but she still pulled over well the guy gave her the finger and sped away (mind you he hit her from behind!)
People amaze me

that is so terrible!! I never get how anyone can hit someone and run from it. Eventually they will get caught and it will be worse for them.

there are just some people who are complety heartless. I hope the guy is ok and that the driver gets what he/she deserves

My parents' said he appeared to be okay when they put him in the ambulance but they do not know the extent of his physical condition.

What is wrong with people?????? Many years ago my brother hit a dog. He pulled over, saw the dog had a tag on it, and went to the owner's house and explained what had happened.

Forget all the legal ramifications of being involved in a hit and run, it's just WRONG to do something like that.

whoa, crazy story! that is so terrible, and heartless. that person is going to get in so much more trouble now that he ran. if it was an accident and he stayed at the scene, it would have been different.

Absolutely. Karma is a b*tch. I hope they find this man. I really do. Luckily, my Dad saw what the guy looked like. He was an older man- possibly aged about 50 years old or so.
