So sad today....UPDATED....

Original post by emomma17

I am not sure why but I am so sad today about my dress that it is overwhelming...I feel like i just made a quick decision on my dress and it is too late. I keep thinking that when I look back I am going to regret not having got something that was more weddingy. It is my fault because I keep looking at dresses but now I think my style has changed and my dress place said it is too late that they cut the dress even though it isn't due in till March. I wish I could be one of those that could afford to buy another dress and just sell this one when it comes in but I can't risk that because my dress was very expensive. Uggggggggg I need a cocktail...

omg your dress is gorgeous! i don't find it too cutesy at all, it looks really elegant to me. you're just stressed and second-guessing yourself. you'll look fabulous!

Aww don't feel that way I felt the same way after purchasing my gown. I think we second guess ourselves and it is a disapointment because the dress shopping is over. I kept wondering 'wow what if something is better out there for me' I finally got over it and realized I chose my gown for a reason.

Your gown is absolutely gorgeous and it is special because you chose it to suit who you are

I know what you mean about regretting a choice - but with me, I haven't even gotten my dress yet. I am nervous about every thing I'm selecting. We just put our down payment on a honeymoon, we got our save the dates, I put a down payment on our reverend and I keep thinking, what if I change my mind about this or that.

Re: So sad today....

Honestly the SAME thing happened to me! I actually bought a dress at a sample sale, it's hard, because you either buy it then or your out of luck! I actually had girls waiting online for me to decide if I want the dress so they can try it on if I don't buy it. With all that said the pressure added up and I just bought it without enough thought. Regretted it about 5mins later, well maybe 10. This story has a happy ending I promise! So the dress still needed to be cleaned, fixed (small tear in the lace) AND altered! I say sample sale but the dress was NOT CHEAP by any means! I could have bought a brand new designer dress for the price I paid, so it wasn't like I could just cut my losses. Anyway, Soooo... I wound up selling it on preownedweddingdresses.com. I found a buyer within days! Well, when I took the dress out of the closet to pack it up I fell in love with it all over again. Then I was sad to see it go, but I already sold it and felt bad going back on my word. So I sent the dress to the woman and went dress shopping. I liked a lot of other dresses but I just kept on thinking about MY dress that wasn't mine anymore Well, a couple of days later, the woman tried on the dress and it was too small for her. She called and asked if she can return it even though I had a 'final sale' policy. She said she would pay a small fee for the inconvenience and all the shipping fees! Well I acted upset because it was nice to have the shipping and maybe the cleaning paid for but let me tell you, I was sooooo happy to have MY dress back! I really don't know what the moral of this story is, I guess I am just trying to tell you, you will probably fall in love with your dress all over again, so go look at it and try it on again before you get all upset!!
PS I think your dress is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I went through the same thing. My advice to you in to STOP looking at wedding gowns! You will only drive yourself crazy!!!!!

ETA: Just looked at your dress in your album. It is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

DITTO!!!!!! Don't look at more wedding gowns........ There will always be dresses that you think are beautiful, but you need to be happy with your decision. Your dress is AMAZING and you will look like a beautiful bride, you just need to remember how you felt on the day you chose it to be your dress!!!!

Re: So sad today....

Me too, I've seen about 3 different gowns that I love!

But if you ordered it then you had to have felt strongly about it at the time.

Stop looking at other dresses, or have thqt cocktail!

Re: So sad today....

I am sorry you are having second thoughts. I have heard of many brides going through 'dress withdrawals' Maybe you will fall in love with it all over again once you see it in person again.
I personally thing the dress is gorgeous. You will look absolutely stunning!!!!

Re: So sad today....

i felt the exact same way about my dress. it was the first dress i tried on and i loved it at the time, but thought i made a terrible decision in the end. however, it was mad expensive, so i was stuck with it. even when i went for my first fitting, i left wanting to cry, thinking i made a mistake and that the dress wasn't wedding-y enough AND it made me look like a fat cow. honestly, i didn't fall in love with it again until the actual wedding day when everything came together. with the hair, veil, head piece, jewels, makeup, etc, i LOVED it. it was absolutely perfect!! it's real easy to second guess yourself when you have over a year to wait after you buy something to get to wear it, but ultimately, your gut told you it was the right dress in the first place and it's always good to go with your gut. you will be a beautiful bride - you have NOTHING to worry about!

Re: So sad today....

I completely understand how you feel! I only went to 2 dress stores and I bought my dress on the spot after trying on maybe a total of 5 dresses (I'm very impulsive)! only a few hrs after ordering the dress I started to question myself...I cried, couldn't sleep! I was convinced I made the wrong choice-that I should've tried on more gowns, looked more places! When I finally got my dress- I fell in love all over again and remebered why I picked it in the first place. I hope this happens to you!!

Re: So sad today....

I agree stop looking. There had to be something that drew you to the dress you picked and Im sure it's beautiful.
