I know I am being a big baby but I went to an endocronologist last week and they have been taking my blood for about 9 months now and the dr has decided to put me on synthroid for my slow thyroid. I am starting the pill tomorrow and I am so nervous bc he also said that it sounds like I have a heart murmur I am going to see a cardioligist next monday and getting a sonogram on my thyroid this friday I am just so scared that something else is wrong

A HEART MURMUR ISNT ANYTHING TO REALLY WORRY ABOUT ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAVE THEM AS WELL AS MY DAD. THEY ARE SENDING YOU TO THE CARDIOLOGIST JUST TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE GOING IN..... JUST RELAX EVERYTHING WILL BE OK. ALSO I AM THE SAME WAY WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING NEW MEDS I FEEL LIKE IM CRAZY LOL I READ EVERY LITTLE SYMPTOM AND FREAK OUT BEFORE I TAKE ANYTHING NEW
JUST HANG INTHERE EVERYTHING WILL BE OK

I have underactive thryoid and have been taking Synthroid now for over 3 years. It's okay- I wish I didn't have to take it but it has finally made me back to normal. As for the heart murmur- I believe that is common and I am sure you'll be fine. Hang in there! Plus, if you have any questions about Synthroid, let me know. I can tell you what I went through with it.

My mom takes the same thing for the thyroid... She said it's not too bad. It actually helped her.
As for the Heart Murmur.... I have one. It's no big deal.... I just watch the amount of physical activity I do.You can still work out and all that stuff. They just send you to the cardiologist to make sure that nothing else it wrong. They may send you to the cardiologist once a year just to make sure everything is ok. Don't be scarrrred!! Good Luck!!

im soo sorry hun. I hope things get better. I know how you feel, oh ave had problems with my stomach for like ever. I finally get the nerve to get it checked out and they tell me theres not much icould do!!! grrrrr damn health problems

Don't be scared to take synthroid...I have been taking it for almost three years now. I did not even know I had a thyroid problem until I went for my physical for grad school! Try not to worry about it too much! If you have any questions/concerns please feel free to FM me.

Dont benervous most people have heart murmurs they just never really get detected until a cardiologist picks it up. My primary care dr. is a cardiologist & he picked up my Arithmia. But its fine im lucky its non life threatening. So dnt be worried its common thing.
