my mom had a rice cooker when i was little and then one day just threw it out. she said that she didn't want to raise daughters who didn't know how to cook rice without a special cooker. from then on we made it the old fashioned way (in a pot, on the stove) and i must say that i like the old fashioned way rice better than the rice i remember from my childhood made in a rice cooker. the cooker is cool but you can def just make it the old way, especially if you don't really eat it that often. it will prob just take up space in your cabinets

Nope.........FH doesn't eat rice, so it'd be a waste for me.

im not a big rice eater but we have one and on the rare occasion, we do cook rice, its wonderful!!!! and it steams veggies too and makes them soft and good! if it wasnt for the rice cooker, i would never make rice ever so i like it a lot.

i think its good to have

I'm not a big fan of things that take up space and serve a single purpose only. You can make rice in a pot. So, to answer your question, no rice maker for me, haha.

ive never had a rice cooker but rice comes in a bag that you can put in boiling water for 10 mins. to me having another contraption to add in my kitchen would be a waste.

no- I usually buy the rice that you boil in the bag

I didn't. However, in college, I used to be a Resident Assistant for a group of Japanese exchange students, and they SWORE by it! Very easy to use, and definitely great if you cook a lot of rice.

FH doesn't like things like rice cookers or slow cookers & since he does all the cooking it was his choice. so no we are not registered for one.

I have one already and it's great. It's so easy and the rice comes out perfect. You can also use it as a steamer.

I didn't think it was something I needed. I almost always make the instant rices so I don't think I would use it.

Yes I did. I love brown rice and I usually don't have to make it and the instant brown rice stinks.
