FH hasn't had anything to do with this wedding in terms of the planning. I even booked the reception site without him looking at it (he loves the Botanical Gardens, but he didn't go actually talk to the manager with me). I am totally fine with being 100% in control of this wedding...I actually prefer it.
But what is weird is tonight, while I'm thumbing through Martha Stewart Weddings and watching TV, he asks where I'm getting my dress. This has thrown me. Where the hell did that come from???? So I told him I was wearing a suit and he said cool.
Men are weird.

I think it's wierd but at the same time don't because I'm in the same boat. He really hasn't done much other than tell me where he'd like the reception to be. I've gone to look at photographers and I have a dj appointment tomorrow evening, all by myself. Yet, he keeps asking if he can see my dress. I just don't get him sometimes.

yeah - i would just chalk it up to him being a boy. it is a little off - but you could look at it like this - he is anticipating YOU on his wedding day and he is not too concerned with any other details.
that is a nice way to look @ it....

Its like when MY FH goes to a dinner at a country club, calls me up and tells me we should have chair covers because catering chairs are dirty. (mind you the ballroom in the temple is brand spanking new as of last month so the chairs will be new too) OR when he said that we should have intermezzo between courses. HUH? Who are you and what have you done to my fiance!!!

Ok--so for me. FH has been somewhat involved. I do all the research and book the appointments and he tags along becasue I make him. With the exception of the florist because he knows nothing about flowers. BUT THEN, last week he calls me at work and asks me how to get on 'that website you go on all the time' (LIW). I was like, 'WHY?' He says 'just because'..I told him 'NO, you cant go on LIW because there are pics of my dress on there'.. He has yet to convince me that he 'just wanted to see the website'. So as a precaution, I deleted most of the pics from my albumn and I went through and deleted pics of my dress that I posted. I dont think I got them all, but he wont be able to find it. I HOPE!!!

FH is the same way, but out of nowhere he puts his foot down about not seeing me b-4 the wedding and that he doesn't want a video done! But he won't come to any appointments w/ me and could care less about the flowers! Men really are from Mars!

I've had numerous guys say that one of the most important things to them is how their bride looks and that they want them to spend as much as they want on the dress! My FI agreed until he found out that a dress I liked was $6,000.

FH originally said he didn't want too much involvement in the details. As time has gone on however, he is getting involved in everything, including flowers. I went to a bunch of halls without him, then we started going together when he could (he used to work on Saturday). When I saw East Wind it was alone, and he was so frustrated that I hadn't made a decision after looking at 17 different places he said if I like it, he would like it. He did see it before I signed the contract, but he was sold before he got there. He has come to see DJ's, photographers, and been to various showcases. He has told me what he would like in a centerpiece (low with candles), but is leaving the exact details to me. He didn't like one of the invitations I picked, but liked the other one. Men!

OOO...I like this thought! Even if it isn't true (which it probably isn't), it makes it seem less 'weird' and more romantic

I LOVE where you're getting married! I visited once and absolutely LOVED it but its too expensive...on hello I was quoted $150 pp... The Snuff Mill is amazing...we ended up settling for Westbury Manor, they have an upstairs room that sort of reminded me a little of the Snuff Mill. COngrats!

You are so sweet. Thank you! I'm not sure if you know this but the $150 is INCLUDING tax and service charge!!! The per person is much lower than that. We live very close to The Botanical Gardens and its a very special place to us

FH has just satrted to get involved into things, but only b/c i made him, after getting involved he's okay, and asking questions. As for the final say, I told him from jump the only thing I will not bother him w/ was his tux (as long as it goes w/ our colors)and the Limos. All him, thats his job, and I won't complain.

Let me just say...speaking from the opposite side...men being involved isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I love him to death and love that he wants to be part of it....but he is VERY OPINIONATED.
For example, I was looking through invitation samples I ordered to narrow it down. Showed him 5...asked..which do you like best? Barely looks at them and says 'I dont like any of them...they are all ugly'. Makes me want to choke him!!!!!! No constructive critiscim...just 'No's'....so if you want your FH to be involved...remember the saying 'Be Careful What You Wish For...You Just Might Get It'..
