FH and I really didn't think we could afford a honeymoon, as we are paying for most of the wedding ourselves. We decided to take a small one and charge it since we only get one honeymoon. Then FBIL announced his wedding 8 weeks before ours in Georgia. It's during the holidays so flights are costing us about 800 bucks, not including the hotel, gift, tux rental, and transportation. We decided to give up on our honeymoon and do what we needed to do to support FBIL and his future wife.
My father didn't like that. He offered to pay for a few nights in puerto rico at the el conquistador, as long as we paid for everything else. I created a honeyfund to help us with flights and food. About 1500 bucks worth of stuff. I got an email today that FILs bought the entire thing! We went from having no honeymoon to have most of it paid for. I could not be more lucky to have TWO incredible, loving, and generous sets of parents! I'm just so overwhelmed with gratitude right now.

I'm in a similar situation, FIL are paying for FH and I's honeymoon as they want him to have the opportunity to travel (he never has).
