I know that I am not supposed to be taking just anything to help me fight the cold symptoms because it's not good for the baby. I called my doctor's office but haven't heard from them yet.
What should I do? Help! I feel awful! Runny nose, weakness and just generally feeling icky!

STEAM....run a hot shower and breath the steam and I think Vick's vapor rub might be ok....but I could be wrong.
And I think from what I've read on here you can take the Sudafed little red pill. Oh...and lots of Vitamin C....drink that OJ!!

My doctor has allowed me to take Tylenol. She also told me that I can take Sudafed if it get's really bad, but to use it occasionally. For a sore throat I use Ludens cough drops-they don't have alcohol in them. I also used Vicks vapo-rub and nose drops to help clear up congestion. You should call your doctor though and check with them to see what they allow. Each doctor has their own beliefs.
Of course the best medicine is rest and lots of fluids. Take care!!

Thank you, Ladies!
I got a call from my Dr and she said Sudafed is OK as well as some Saline drops for the runny nose. That's all I will need for now, since I don't have that many symptoms.
I did take Tylenol yesterday, but it did nothing! The Dr did confirm though that Tylenol is OK to take! Good to be reassured in case a nasty headache kicks in!
P.S. It's not easy, this pregnancy business! But fun never the less!

My Doc told me tyenol was ok but I would stay away from anything before 12 weeks just to be safe how far along r u?

Wino, I am a little over 3 weeks from the day of conception! Yes, I actually know exactly when it happen, long story... I will tell you guys later...
So, how many weeks would that make me?

About 5 weeks. You go back to the day of your last period.

I would try to tough it out.. the first 12 weeks esp earlier the nervous system is forming... JMO
