Soooo... Today I was at work (I'm a nanny) and I'm about to take the kids outside (4 and 9 months) so I'm putting sunscreen on them. Afterward, I go to pee, as I finish, the four year old bursts into the bathroom scaring the crap out of me so I yell at him, pull up my shorts and wash my hands. As I'm drying them on a towel, I realize my engagement ring is not on my finger. Full panic mode. I couldn't find it anywhere in the bathroom. I tossed the full bathroom trash bin over, searched through I don't even know what, until I realized it must have flown off, and I flushed it in the craziness when the kid walked in on me mid-stream. I start to freak the f#^* out and hysterically cry. The four year old (who has autism btw) is yelling at me to stop crying because I'm making him sad which only makes me cry harder. I go out into the playroom... There it is. On the shelf. I must've taken it off to put the lotion on them. F#^* me.

Omg my heart stopped reading this story!!!! You should do the nanny/surgeon trick. Get a large safety pin and pin it to your clothes when you need to.

OMG! So glad you found it! I had a freak out last week because it wasn't on my finger.... Turns out I was soaking it to clean and forgot. That is seriously one of my biggest fears though! I have nightmares about losing my ring ALL THE TIME! I finally did the insurance on it this morning though, so hopefully it will help ease my mind!

Awwww OMG that story!! I feel like I was having an anxiety attack for you just reading it!!!!! That is my biggest fear. I constantly check my finger. My friend (my BM) tells me whenever i take it off to put lotion on to sit and watch my ring while i do it. It sounds cray cray but i do it and dont forget to put it back on cause I'm watchin it!

OMG! I nanny a four year old and a 11 month old. I don't wear my ring to work for that same reason. My hands are wrist deep in poop all day so im constantly washing them. Plus between doing their laundry and dishes, too risky!!!

Thanks ladies! Craziness! When I told FH I was so upset and hes like 'Don't worry that's what we have insurance for.' But then it wouldn't be the ring he gave me anymore. I will not be taking it off ever again there lol. I don't even know why I took it off at all! I never do! Brain fart lol

Whew! So happy you found it but not a good post to read on my way to work sitting on the bus. Just so you know a couple of passengers sitting next to me are happy you found your ring as well. I kinda read out aloud, 'Oh my she lost her ring,' and shortly after, 'Thank God she found it!!!'

Phew! Good thing it was a happy ending! I thought I lost mine once too, when I was making dinner once. Then I realized I had it in my pocket LOL!
The diamond on my engagement ring was FH's grandma's diamond, and then his mom. So if I lost it, it would really not be my engagement ring anymore :(.

AHHH so stressful!! I'm so glad you found it! I only had one of these freak outs... in Atlantic City of all the great places to fear you lost your engagement ring. Mine fell off in my sleep and was in my bed the whole time i was ripping the room apart. Scariest 10 mins of my life!!
