So today I get a text.........

......and it says:

'If I was hypothetically 6 months pregnant at your wedding, would you still want me to be in it?'

From my neice! I'm SHOCKED. She is 25 years old (we're only 8 years apart). And then it hit me.....Um.........I'm going to be a GREAT AUNT!

WOW.

And if your wondering what my response was:

'Of course!'

Burning bridezilla selfish question though-
do they let bm gowns out for this type of thing?? Look in my folder and tell me how the dress will look with a prego underneath!

im sure they can make it work! just order it bigger its easier to take in then to let out!! congrats to your neice!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly- it's so much easier to take in than to let it out.

I'm sure that they can work something out.

IS her dress ordered already? I'm not sure theres enough letting out on that style of dress but what if she got a different but very similar style

For a first child, you are not that huge at 6 months. It is the time you start popping though. My sister will be 8 months preg with twins, so we bought the dress very big. too bad she didn't mention this earlier, even if she didn't want to say something too early, it would have helped for you to know and get a bigger dress.

Is that a 2 piece dress? I just checked your pics. If yes, you have a problem. It probably won't work. My sister had to get a one piece and the others are getting 2 pieces. They tried her with a 'bump' and it just wasn't working. She may to order another dress, similiar style, but one piece.

I would call right away to see if they actually started the order. Sometimes even though you ordered it they don't actually start making them right away. Try to see if you can increase the size.

It's a one piece. The dresses have been in since February. She only found out today that she is just 4 weeks.

So funny you say that, I'm going through the exact same thing. Well, it's my cousin, not my niece. But yes, she will be about 6 months pregnant at the wedding. My bridal shop was bizarre about it - they were like ohhhhh we don't know if we can rush an extra dress. Which REALLY pissed me off b/c I'm getting both my gown and all the BM dresses from them. But, they said they could order extra fabric and let it out that way. In the end, one of my other BMs dropped TEN DRESS SIZES since she was fitted (weight watchers) so she and my cousin are going to switch!!

Wow.......thats is GREAT that they can switch.
And for giving them all your business, your salony should be doing everything they CAN to accomodate you.

You can also look into adding a 'panel' of fabric to the front. I recently found out my MtOH is pregnant and will have three weeks to go the day of my wedding. A coworker mentioned her daughter became pg when she was in a wedding party and they just added a panel in the front. However I understand this could be expensive (75 +?). Danielle (Serendipity1141) was very helpful to me with a lot of info on this - she works in a salon. Perhaps you can FM her and 'pick her brain'.

But I do agree she more than likely won't be showing TOO much at 6 months.

MY MOH was trying to get preg but wasnt sure so she ordered her dress (which did also come in maternity) Not maternaty. Long story short the bigger non maternity dress is getting a new front for her 5 mo baby bump.

hmmm...thats a mermaid cut right....don't know if that will work...most stores won't let you switch sizes...at least mine said all sales is final

worse come to worse you may be able to get something off the rack closer to the date.....maybe at Davids Bridal.....
