I bought my aunt a ticket to come here from Argentina. She just went to pick up her passport and they told her they ran out of paper to print them on and since Holy Week is coming up everyone will be on vacation so they can't guarantee that she'll get on in time. SHe's supposed to fly on April 9th. I'm so upset because she can't come and because I wasted so much money on her ticket. It was close to $1000!

Can you convert it to an e-ticket? Most airlines prefer etickets nowadays anyway.

She has an eticket. The thing that can't be printed is the passport itself! What kind of country runs out of paper?

I'm so sorry. Can't they like call one of their embassies in a neighboring country or something? Is it country specific paper?

i wonder if she could get anything done by going to the US Embassy in Argentina??? just a thought...hope she makes it!

That's horrible!
Is there anything they can do at neighboring embassies or have it done elsewhere? That's a bit ridiculous that they can't print out the passport because they ran out of paper and won't be able to do anything about it since it's holy week.

Thanks ladies, I just sent an email to the travel agent. Hopefully I can change her travel date without having to buy a new ticket, although I doubt it. Hopefully she'll get her passport before my wedding! SHe's supposed to bring her son whose going to be my ringbearer.
