We visited it last night for the first time and fell in love with the grounds, the chapel and the price too. But the 1st room was too small and the 3rd room was too big and the one in the middle wasnt decorated like the other two that we LOVED! If it was just the Garden room, we would have been thrilled but after seeing the other 2 rooms, we couldnt compare.
I was wondering if anyone here that is having their reception at the Swan Club, is there a way to ask if the 165 guest was flexible? Is anyone using the Camelot room?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the Swan Club, but in the same vicinity is Sans Souci. Beautiful place, 1 wedding at a time, pretty reasonable. You should check it out.

The halls are usually more flexible in the off peak months (Jan- Mar). I don't know if that helps you or not. I think that they are also more flexible on a Friday night as opposed to a Saturday night.

I looked at the Swan Club and thought that the room that they required 165 was way too small--I think that they should let you do it-when do you want to get married? I know that I asked about it and they said no-I wanted a May date. Hope it works out!
I wanted a Sunday afternoon, June 5th 2005 to be exact. You thought it was too small for 165?

I am going to a wedding here in April. Not sure of how many guests she is having, but when I looked there, I too, thought it was small, I was having 200, 165 may be fine.

Re: So upset about the Swan Club
We went to a wedding at the Swan Club a couple weeks ago. It was in the Camelot room, and I think there were around 200 people, but it was packed really tight. I was saying how the room is too small for all these guests. I think their minimum of 165 is too high. I think it should be 125 at the most.

We sre having our wedding in the garden room. We thought the same as you wehn we saw the other rooms first, but then went back when it was set up for a wedding, and the room was beautiful. We also liked that it had it's own private bathrooms, where the other rooms all share a bathroom. See if you can go back and see the room when it is set up for a wedding - you may be pleasenatly surprised.

We had our wedding in the Garden Room and it was beautiful. It was nice to not have to share the bathrooms and there was also a separate entrance, so we didn't see any other events during our reception. I was a bit confused about your numbers - did you want 165 people, or were you told that your minimum had to be 165 people? We had 112 people in the Garden Room (we were a little below the minimum of 125 people) but we wer very happy with the room. This was the only picture I have in my computer that shows the room.
I know how you feel. I liked the swan club, but only the camelot room. Due to my # of guests (120) they only offered the contessa room. It seemed as if the guests would be in 2 different sections the way the room is divided. Some guests would actually seem so far away.
Thanks for the help, I have only about 125-150 people and the minimum is 165 for the big ballroom. I asked if I could see the Garden room with a wedding there and he said no.
My mom went to a wedding there (in the Garden room) and she said it was beautiful.
I have seen only 4 halls out of 12 so I am still undecided.

We went to a wedding this past saterday at the Swan Club. I dont know the name of the room but when you walked in from the out side it was the room to the left. They had about 150-160 people and it was perfect. The dance floor was the right size. The cocktail was in the smaller room that had two levels. The only problem I noticed was that not everyone had a seat so I would find out about that. Other wise the place is beautiful

i once went to a wedding there and like Adrianna i don't know the names of the rooms. my friend had her ceremony to the left (the large room had some sort of divider in place that then was taken away for the reception). the cocktail was in the smaller room that had two levels, and then the reception was back to the room to the left minus the divider.
she had about 140 guests. she kept on raving about the grounds, but i didn't have the heart to tell her it really didn't matter because it was at night and one could see squat!

Re: So upset about the Swan Club
JUST ASK! Don't be afraid to ask them ANYTHING! That was the best advice I got when I started looking..... Just call the Swan Club and ask them if there is ANY WAY they can work with you on that room....and what you can do to get it...... If they see you are serious about booking, trust me, they will make an attempt to accomodate you.....

I agree that room is too small for over 165. I wanted a Sunday afternoon and asked for flexibility on the minimum and they wouldn't budge. Which worked out for me, because I got the Garden Terrace room at Fox Hollow which is HUGE for a minimum of 160. I'm having around 200, so it worked out perfectly...no WAY 200 would have been comfortable in the Swan Club.
Nessie is right, ASK THEM! Can't hurt!
Good Luck!

Re: So upset about the Swan Club
I just booked with them, my banquet manager is Barbara.
We are in early May, and they have very little flexibility in the room mins during the high season mid-may to beginning of july. They might drop 10 to 15 off the min, but that was about it.
I do agree, I think their room mins are too high, the room min for my room, the after deck is 70 people, and I think that would be too cramped, but it's perfect for my little wedding of 60...lol
They seem pretty willing to work with you, so figure out what you can realistically afford, and talk to them.
Hope that helps..
ETS: FYI, the middle room is the Contessa Room, The room to the left is the Camelot Room, and the Garden Room is downstairs, that was my favorite too, but it's too big for us..
