So we got one of those infamous RSVPs back...

So we got one of those infamous RSVPs back...

You know, the one with NO NAME on it, but a big ol' check mark next to 'Will attend with pleasure'

Good thing I took the time to write a number on the back of each RSVP card with 'invisible' ink. You should have seen the look on my younger brother's face when I busted out the mini black light and revealed the number on the back and matched it up to my spreadsheet... voila! Now we know my cousin is attending with a guest

Moral of the story - number each rsvp card and match it to your guestlist before you mail those suckers out!

yup! this is a great lesson b/c i did not number my RSVP's and was left figuring out who sent the BLANK rsvp card.

Yes....I have that in mind. Question is did you buy the pen that comes with the blacklight? If so, where did you get it from? TIA

I just wrote the number small in pencil on the back corner.

Yep, the pen comes with the uv light on the pentop. I got mine off Ebay. I did a quick search for UV Pen and came up with a whole bunch for you:

I'm so glad I remembered to do that after some of the stories I hear on here. I got one from myjewelthief.com. They are also an Ebay vendor. It comes with the light on the top of the pen. It was only a buck and works great. My step dad was fascinated by it and started writing secret messages all over the place.

lol...good thing you had that invisible marker. I actually used it on my RSVP too but surprisingly everyone wrote their name...but I think its because instead of writing

M___________________

I did

Name(s)____________________

So it was kinda self explanatory

Invisible ink?!? That's awesome - I never heard of that (being used for RSVPs I mean)!!! I just numbered mine in pencil (tiny #s on the inside of the fold).

On a side note, my one bridesmaid (who knew that I did it) opened it up, saw she was #115, crossed it out and wrote in big black pen: #1 V.I.P. :) :) Mary better be #116!!!! (Mary is my 1 'problem' bridesmaid lol) I didn't actually see it until the next morning when I dropped the card - and I laughed my a$$ off

I numbered all of mine too! And-it helps when you are marking off who is coming, you just match the number to your list instead of looking through the entire list each time!

LMMFAO. I can imagine the look-my brother would have done the same thing. You were discreet-I was crazy anal lmao I put people's names on em. like: Riley so and so and Sarah So and So ans then said __- of 2 will be coming. I didn't wnat extra guests or worse, no names. very clever idea Yesi.

Totally Agree!!! People we good putting their names on the card. The only problem we had were people who were misplacing their cards.
Come on where is the pesonsibilty of placing your card in a safe place and or mailing it out as soon as you get it.
